It's Belizeable!: April 2010
http://hollomaninbelize.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 23, 2010. Soak It All In. Well, it's almost over. This time tomorrow, I will be in Miami, probably sleeping in some hotel or stressing out about all the insane things I have to get done in the two weeks before I graduate. Did I say that right? Two weeks before I graduate? Five and a half weeks in Belize already over? Keri and Katy actually convinced me to go out tonight and hang out? I really can't believe it, but it's true, and time really does fly when you're having fun. One of Dr. Ca...

International Field Experience- Belize. Saturday, April 10, 2010. I have been Americanized! As we walked throughout the chamber and the cave, we learned about the history and rituals of the Mayans and what exactly when on in the caves and why those skeletons were there. International Field Experience- Belize: Back to school
http://taylorgrennan.blogspot.com/2010/04/back-to-school.html
International Field Experience- Belize. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Over my two week Easter break I feel that I have accomplished. I volunteered with the Saga Humane Society as a dog walker, worked on a children's. Book that I am co writing with two other of my fellow students, and I went inland and participated in some of the most amazing adventures of my life. Today I returned to my standard II class at Ambergris Caye Elementary school. Well it turns out that. My teacher never showed up, I'm. Beautiful ...

It's Belizeable!: Comparisons
http://hollomaninbelize.blogspot.com/2010/04/comparisons.html
Monday, April 19, 2010. Which isn't to say things weren't as western. There were certainly just as many western amenities and comforts around for the tourists. However, you could tell that the locals just lived a little bit differently than they do in San Pedro. Things were more laid back, there wasn't really a night life to speak of, and there was more farmland, and more people of Mayan descent - or so I was told. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It's Belizeable!: Education In Belize
http://hollomaninbelize.blogspot.com/2010/04/education-in-belize.html
Tuesday, April 20, 2010. One of Dr. Catapano's prompts for the Belize field experience was to write about how children are viewed in Belize culture. How children are viewed, she wrote, influences many things related to education and public policy, not to mention social aspects to how children, teenagers, and students are viewed in education. It's quite a difficult thing to write about, and I waited awhile before mentioning it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dr Kubasko's Web Page. Jeanne H.'s Blog.

International Field Experience- Belize: That is your privilege.
http://taylorgrennan.blogspot.com/2010/04/that-is-your-privilege.html
International Field Experience- Belize. Wednesday, April 14, 2010. That is your privilege. How can you tell the difference between rights and privileges? Well if you can’t figure it out I suggest visiting a foreign country. What about the schooling system? American students have computer labs, art classes, music, physical education, clubs, etc. In third world countries the funding for those classes does not exist. So how do we make others realize and appreciate their privileges? Me and my kids.

International Field Experience- Belize: Final thoughts before I go
http://taylorgrennan.blogspot.com/2010/04/final-thoughts-before-i-go.html
International Field Experience- Belize. Thursday, April 29, 2010. Final thoughts before I go. Friday April 23rd was my last day at Ambergris Caye Elementary School and what a bittersweet day it was! For the past 2 weeks I have had my own Standard II class of 7 students Rochelle, A.J, Nathan, Faith, Diego, Brandon, and Kylie. Standard II is equivalent to third grade so it was a perfect match for me since I worked with Mrs. Kosh. In taking on my own classroom and I know that I would be successful. UNCW Bel...
