PIXELDOOM: October 2008
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Wednesday, October 29, 2008. A companion piece to my other Final Fantasy IV Sketches. This is a sketch of the summoner from that game, Rydia. Here she's being backed up by the King of Summons and Sea Monster/Dragon Thing Leviathan. Monday, October 27, 2008. But, as an exercise I learned a lot and enjoyed the process. Sunday, October 19, 2008. You could also call this "attack of the gaussian blur". I wonder what Samus is thinking? Y'know, because she could. E...

PIXELDOOM: Post Mortem?
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2009/04/post-mortem.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Monday, April 13, 2009. I'm a little tired of gaming ideas that I flesh out but don't have the technology, patience or time to make them happen. Here's a model sketch I did of Garilon to try and get his run/walk cycle animation. And here is an uncolored 8-frame walk cycle of Garilon. I love how it turned out, personally. I hope to use it someday! Great animation. i just don't understand why he has one gray leg. April 17, 2009 at 2:55 PM. April 17, 2009 at 5:13 PM.

PIXELDOOM: Garilon vs. Ice Raven
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2009/02/garilon-vs-ice-raven.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Garilon vs. Ice Raven. Been re-imagining Nightmare Castle from the ground up, starting with the main character, Garilon. I talked about my first Garilon design in a previous post. Here, I tried to draw a scene of Garilon fighting the Level 3 boss from Nightmare Castle, the Ice Raven. For reference, here is a screenshot from Nightmare Castle:. I always liked this game. A classic side scroller, fun game with great art.

PIXELDOOM: The standoff

A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Friday, April 10, 2009. Here's a thing. I may color it. When I run out of other things I want to do. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). PIXELDOOM: Midnight Mansion Fan Art
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2009/04/midnight-mansion-fan-art.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Friday, April 10, 2009. Midnight Mansion Fan Art. It's been a long time since I've drawn a character from Midnight Mansion. And I'm working on a website revamp for Action Soft. This is what I drew as a top-bar graphic for the new MM site. Here it is. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget. I'm a computer nerd in my late 20s who wishes he had more time to draw, but secretly spends most of his spare time playing Video Games (shhh!

PIXELDOOM: Poorly executed
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2009/01/poorly-executed.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Friday, January 16, 2009. One of my biggest problems as an artist is my complete lack of consistency. This stems from me not drawing NEARLY enough. I'm lucky if I get a good sketch in per week, when really I should be doing 5-10 a DAY. I'm hoping to carve out more of my time in the future. Here's an example of a drawing that I think is okay, it's just very inconsistent (and has anatomical problems among others). January 31, 2009 at 12:51 PM. This site serves as ...

PIXELDOOM: May 2007
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Tuesday, May 15, 2007. Using the same technique as the Samus portrait I did last time, I did a Link portrait. It's definitely my style, but the anatomy and shading needs work. Again, I like the tone of the colors. I actually made a background for this one, even if it was a bit rushed. Saturday, May 12, 2007. Sorry for the rushed background. Beats a gray background, I suppose. Friday, May 4, 2007. Elemental Sketches pt. 2. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Elemental Sk...

PIXELDOOM: August 2008
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Final Fantasy IV (relased in 1991 in the US as Final Fantasy II) really fundamentally changed the way I looked at games. At 11 years old, the story of Final Fantasy IV surpassed anything I had ever known. By the end, even the "bad guy" redeems himself after a revelation about his past. I'm a little less happy with Cecil's line art. First of all the pose is boooring. It's also very thick, because I was playing around with line wi...Actua...

PIXELDOOM: June 2008
http://pixeldoom.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
A semi-regular sketch and video game blog. Monday, June 30, 2008. The third (and maybe final? Click for a larger version. The colors are more muted, and I like the "green screen" Dr. Wily logo in the background. I strove for details, even though I sort of gave up on the background. Anything I tried adding detracted from the foreground. I like to think of this as Megaman's first real challenge, hence the expression on his face. Please, post any comments or critiques.
