Song of Justice: May 2008

Our small but great acts of love sing of a hope. That pierces even the darkest of stories. This is the day that the Lord has made! And the day that I leave for Southern Asia. As we have been preparing, I so deeply value your prayers that many of you have faithfully brought before the Father for a variety of things. Last night was so encouraging to have a few of you come and pray over myself (and Merrick! As I leave in T-Minus 3 hours! 2 That the people themselves in the area of South Asia that we will be...

Song of Justice: February 2009

Our small but great acts of love sing of a hope. That pierces even the darkest of stories. My good friend is giving up facebook for Lent. As the days leading up to Easter I felt like there was something that I should also find to give up for 40 days - but for what purpose? In the struggle for the distinction between what is "Catholic" and what is "Christian," Lent can easily slide into the background for an evangelical in America. But since when do we let culture dictate how we are spiritually led? Durin...

Our small but great acts of love sing of a hope. That pierces even the darkest of stories. The adventure began Saturday evening. We were relaxed on the hammock under the shade of a pine, with the creek running next to our campsite. There were no shouts, or people running to get away - but when a sheriff came by telling us of voluntary evacuations of the campsite, a decision had to be made. . Vacation was over - and all hands were on deck. You can see all the fires that are going on around here. Definitio...

Our small but great acts of love sing of a hope. That pierces even the darkest of stories. The Story of Stuff. A friend posted this link on facebook - so I looked it up. . 2o minutes later, I had been taken through a brief summary of The Story of Stuff. The information shared is a great introduction to understanding the history of consumerism in our society. There are many great points, but also some underlying theme which my wonderful fiance continually reminds me of. Contrarily, as Christians we should...

The Young and Aspiring: A Life Empowered
http://rfirster.blogspot.com/2010/06/2-parts.html
The Young and Aspiring. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. We were a week late, but nonetheless we celebrated Pentecost Sunday by learning about it:. 8220;If you love me, obey. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another. Who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put ...

For His glory: August 2008
http://monicacecile.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2008. Drowning in a sea of emotion. With these waves crashing overhead. Twenty feet under the surface. My heart has been left for dead. Clinging to a raft. A notion of a dream. Instead of letting go. And believing you rule the seas. I’m letting go of all my support. And holding on to love larger than life. Sinking into your depths. I find shelter from the strife. I long to hold on. To those things unseen. Fall captive to your grace. Must I walk on water to believe? Find in your eyes.
