Welcome to Reading LETS. LETS stands for Local Exchange Trading Scheme. It's a scheme that allows local people to exchange goods and services with one another without using money. It's possible there are about 300 LETS systems in the UK according to LETSlink though as they're all separate grass-roots organisations it's hard to tell, and some still use paper directories and have little on line presence. This site explains the scheme that operates in Reading. Our currency is called Readies.

We hope this website has answered some of your questions about LETS. There is currently a one-off £5 membership fee per applicant, with no further subscription or annual fee to pay. In return, you'll have access to the current Reading LETS directory of goods and services, and information about local events we are holding for our members. LETS Stall at Reading Green Festival June 2016. This year the Reading WaterFest included a Green section in front of St Laurence's Church. It was the first outing for Anne-Marie's new stall featuring miniature examples of many types of trading. LETS Spring Walk along the Kennet April 2016. On 14th April some LETS members and Boxer Dog did a walk from Burghfield along the side of the Kennet. We started off on one side of the Kennet. Then changed over to the other side.
