Fiction is like a box of chocolates…. You never know what you'll find until you look inside. Who else writes like…? What should I read next? Tell us about it. Mr Carter’s personal war. In my life I have fought two battles, the reason for my intrepid guilt. The hardest was my war against guilt and love, fault and worship. And so with high dignity and adoration, I returned to England with a humble mind of excitement. The foul stench of London reminded me of home, a comforting feeling to thee. With ...I wal...

Friday, February 27, 2009. Day 59 - Down the sink. How many things have you lost down the plughole in the sink? I've lost a gold cross and chain as a child. I was too scared to own up, and didn't realise it could have been retrieved. When I think of how many items of jewellery and other things I've lost in my lifetime. Wouldn't it be amazing to discover a box with all these missing things? I sometimes dream of finding 'treasure' boxes. Links to this post. Day 58 - Some sort of exoskeleton. Almost a year ...

Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Day 273 - Dali. Finally went to the Dali exhibition in its last week in Melbourne. We arrived at about 7.30 pm and stood snaking for an hour before getting in. My enthusiasm had waned and I tried to be patient as Mr 16 spent 10 minutes in front of each picture in the first two rooms only. There were over 200 pictures! I wanted to go back to this (earlier today in the front yard). Waiting in line for so long, I stared at the ceiling. Links to this post. I arrived at Southban...

Sunday, May 31, 2009. Day 151 - John Green at the State Library of Victoria. Still feeling unwell, I was tempted to miss out on John Green speaking at the State Library of Victoria. I'm glad I didn't. He is such an energetic and deep-thinking author. It was amazing to see the turnout of adolescents - pictured here lining up to get their books signed - and incredible to hear to response they gave him when he bounded onto the stage. I've written a blog post. Links to this post. State Library of Victoria.
