Sunshine: Tuesdays With Morrie? How 'bout Months With Menopause?
http://sammortonsbooks.blogspot.com/2011/05/tuesdays-with-morrie-how-bout-months.html
Tuesday, May 24, 2011. How 'bout Months With Menopause? Every time I hear one of my friends from the north say they moved down here because they were tired of the harsh winters, I want to ask, "Have you ever been in South Carolina in August? It's like Hell sends its left over heat here. As a matter of fact, wet T-shirt contests didn't originate in bars, they were just a natural progression from sweating through three sets of clothes in a day. I, therefore, love air conditioning. 1 small can of crab.

Thursday, July 29, 2010. I looked through my SPAM folder the other day.over 100 messages. The thought occurred to me that we could cut our spam in half if someone would come up with an organization that could offer me a HUGE PENIS and a degree in medical coding at the same time. She realizes with that in there, she'll never get into school libraries, but she's wondering if it's worth the risk. Opinions anyone? The Best Fruit Dip Ever. Sunshine: June 2009
http://sammortonsbooks.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 29, 2009. Oh Governor, My Governor! My publisher tells me that because I have a young adult novel coming out in October, and because this blog is a mechanism to promote the book, I should veer more toward topics that appeal to tweens, teens, and their parents and away from more “adult” topics and language (i.e. my rant against KFC a couple of months ago). Newspaper has patted itself on the back so much about its “investigation” and WIS-TV has covered this situation so thoroughly ...This biza...

Sunshine: The G Spot
http://sammortonsbooks.blogspot.com/2010/11/g-spot.html
Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Alexey proudly announced he was quite satisfied with his 3G iPhone. In response, I had some questions and one apparently boring soliloquy:. 1- What does the "G" stand for? Does it mean gigabyte or generation? I've never been quite clear on the concept. 2- (and here is where I think I lost Alexey)- what's with this video chat thing? So my question is, if we've come to this, why not save the radiation exposure and just go find the guy and talk to him? So much for parenting.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. The Case of Mayor Bob's Oddly Green Colon. I unashamedly admit that I used to be a hardcore fan of. Star Trek: The Next Generation. I have heard the term “going postal,” or the more up to date term “going educational,” since it first exploded (pardon the pun) into pop culture. Last week, though “Q” didn’t pay me a visit, I believe I got a glimpse into how such wildly violent episodes begin. Let me set the stage:. Let’s see, oh yeah, Nikki got sick and puked on my legs. And yet my t...

Sunshine: Having a Right vs. Doing Right
http://sammortonsbooks.blogspot.com/2010/08/having-right-vs-doing-right.html
Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Having a Right vs. Doing Right. The Mosque- or rather, Muslim Activity Center- at Ground Zero. I've decided to join in on the side of tolerance. This is the United States, after all, by God. All of us have First Amendment rights, so if Ms. Khan wants to build a mosque within a block of the worst terrorist attack in the history of this country, so be it. So my snide comments aside, here's what confuses me. If a young girl is continually molested by a man and she grows distr...

Serendipitous Times: Go Ahead...Give Up!
http://serendipitoustimes.blogspot.com/2010/11/go-aheadgive-up.html
All about new YA fantasy author Jacquelyn Sylvan, her book, Surviving Serendipity, and lots of other fun stuff, too! Thursday, November 18, 2010. Go Ahead.Give Up! I often lend and recommend books to my friends and family; I’m the go-to girl for them for finding new series and authors. And more often than not, they agree with my taste. What I find interesting, though, is what happens when they don’t. And why do you feel so terrible when you do? Which, by the way, I’m enjoying very much. The Page 69 Test.

Serendipitous Times: Why Political Candidates Are Like Diet Pills
http://serendipitoustimes.blogspot.com/2010/11/why-political-candidates-are-like-diet.html
All about new YA fantasy author Jacquelyn Sylvan, her book, Surviving Serendipity, and lots of other fun stuff, too! Monday, November 1, 2010. Why Political Candidates Are Like Diet Pills. Obviously, I’m not a fan of the political advertisements, either, whether it’s the radio ads or the mailbox flyers or the mudslinging tv spots. And it occurred to me, as I listened to the fiftieth one to air on the radio today, that their ads are very similar to those pushing diet pills. At Amazon or Quake Direct!
