Allotment, cat, crafts, food, pens, etc. Day: August 10, 2015. Now the hard work starts. August 10, 2015. August 10, 2015. It’s official, our application for an allotment has been approved! We’ll find out which plot is our this week, and then I guess we start digging! Time to start doodling some proper plans and buying some seeds as well, and I think we might need a bit more than small hand tools to get us through a whole allotments worth of weeding (oh, I hope it’s not too over grown!

Henry's Shed: June 2015
http://henrys-shed.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Welcome to Henry's Shed! Monday, 15 June 2015. I've been knitting for a long time. I worked out recently that it is about 30 years! That makes me feel extremely old! But in all those years I have never knitted socks. I've mostly never wanted to knit socks, but in the last few years I have felt the need to try. So I did try. And it went horribly wrong, and as I had 50 million other projects to amuse me, I didn't worry too much about fixing it! One, single sock. And it's not going to fit Molly! The winner ...

Allotment, cat, crafts, food, pens, etc. Day: August 6, 2015. August 6, 2015. August 6, 2015. To spend far too much money. We had (still have) no idea what we were doing, we just knew we wanted some pretty things in pots and one of them definitely had to be an Acer. Fast forward a few months and everything is, amazingly, still alive. We’ve pretty much reach the maximum mount of pots we can reasonably fit in that space though. Doris likes to help. The tomato plants are still growing. Every time I look...

Holly – beansandtoast

Allotment, cat, crafts, food, pens, etc. June 4, 2016. We had a minor miracle last week – an actual, real, genuine, hot and sunny bank holiday weekend! These are rare occurrences and not to be taken lightly, so we slapped on the sun screen, grabbed our hats, and spent three whole days down on the allotment ticking off some of the bigger items on the to do list. First thing to do was get the shed painted, add the guttering, and get the water butts in place. A trip to North Norfolk. May 28, 2016. That firs...

Allotment, cat, crafts, food, pens, etc. Bread with fresh yeast. July 12, 2015. The dilemma of blogging for the first time in many months – ignore the absence, or make the usual excuses? We all know by now I’m a bad blogger, surely? But I have a new laptop! The last couple of days have been a bit of a revelation in this house, IT wise. I’ve backed up all my phone photos for the first time in almost a year (bad Holly! Been able to update the music on my mp3 player! 15g ish (1/3 of a block) of fresh yeast.

Allotment, cat, crafts, food, pens, etc. September 6, 2015. September 6, 2015. Do you ever get the feeling that you spend your whole week just waiting for the weekend? Pinching all the flowers off my chilli pepper plants, they’re slowly ripening. The softest socks. Nearly there. Homegrown tomatoes on toast for dinner. Allotment tea is the best tea. Even if you forget your spoon and have to stir it with your pen knife. A visit to the Tree Cathedral, concentrating on the best bits of autumn. August 31, 2015.

Allotment, cat, crafts, food, pens, etc. The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable. August 8, 2013. August 8, 2013. Last weekend I went to London and experienced something which, five days later, I’m still trying to get my head around and can’t stop thinking about. On Saturday night we spent three very sweaty hours exploring an abandoned sorting office next to Paddington station, in the world of Punch Drunk’s The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable. 3 thoughts on “ The Drowned Man: A Hollywood Fable. Wednesday, November 11, 2009. I have several links to share. Yohei Shimomae updated his Cube Defense game demo. To work on Firefox. I think this is the first fully-playable WebGL game I've seen. This is pretty encouraging to see without any documentation and I hope to see many more of these. There are some confusing comments about the WebGL arrays on his blog, though. WebGL introduces types for handling native arrays from JavaScript. Vlad wrote up some info. A planet site for WebGL. Which includes his an...

September 3, 2013. Over the years, I have realized that a book must be established for the rules of strictly hooking up. A book that clearly outlines how to keep it friends with benefits. Nothing less, nothing more. I’ve witnessed guys wine and dine girls for months along with texts and phone calls throughout the day with sweet gestures implying that they are an item. Then BAM! As soon as that girl catches feelings, the guy feels the opposite way. A few pointers for just hooking up:. For roughly five yea...
