The Dove World Outreach Church, in Gainsville, Florida, is planning on burning Korans on September 11th as a protest against Islam. The pastor of a Florida church planning to burn Qurans told CNN Tuesday while the congregation plans to go through with the action to protest the September.

The Bipartisan Rules: Debate post-mortem
http://bipartisanrules.blogspot.com/2011/08/debate-post-mortem.html
Raising hell since 2008. Last night's GOP debate was highly entertaining and, surprisingly, informative. Here's a few observations:. 4 The last point on Bachmann: I genuinely don't understand how true "conservatives" can line up behind her. She hasn't ever accomplished anything, so how do you know how she's going to govern? I can understand tea partiers lining up behind the likes of Jim DeMint, Rand Paul or even Pawlenty. But Bachmann? Is the tea party really about rhetoric and not results? He was a succ...

The Bipartisan Rules: Ron Paul for the Republican nomination
http://bipartisanrules.blogspot.com/2011/12/ron-paul-for-republican-nomination.html
Raising hell since 2008. Ron Paul for the Republican nomination. A Ron Paul endorsement might be the last thing you'd expect from someone who offered a full-throated endorsement of John McCain in 2008. But the country is much different four years later, and it's considerably worse off. Ron Paul represents a complete rejection of the last 11 years of Republican misrule. Today's Republicans like Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich have more in common with Woodrow Wilson than Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater or W...

The Bipartisan Rules: The growing case against Rick Perry
http://bipartisanrules.blogspot.com/2011/08/growing-case-against-rick-perry.html
Raising hell since 2008. The growing case against Rick Perry. I've been mostly apathetic about Rick Perry's entrance into the GOP primary, if for no other reason than none of his principal challengers thrills me. It's well-documented that I'd like to see the nominee come from the lower tiers - specifically, Ron Paul. Who is arguably a borderline first-tier candidate despite being completely ignored by most media types), Gary Johnson. Third: Perry once mandated that all 11- and 12-year-old girls be vaccin...

Thoughts from a loyal GOP dissenter. A Progressive Republican Blog. Friday, October 1, 2010. So I just got hired today by a local police department. After a year of applying and testing and being in the background process, a little town about two hours from where I live picked me up. I'm pretty excited, but will most likely not have a lot of time for blogging. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am a musician, a writer, and a flawed human being. View my complete profile. Thoughts from a loyal GOP dissenter. A Progressive Republican Blog. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. US will begin disarming. Is this a good idea? The United States will swear off the development of new generations of. Nuclear weapons and will not use its existing arsenal to attack nonnuclear. States that are in compliance with nonproliferation agreements, the Obama. Among other things, the new American stance is meant to provide an. You can read the whole article here. Police and the mentally ill: Cops have a right to self-defense. Would the public have been appeased? I doubt it. Most likely, there would still be protests against the police for killing their attacker. James Wolfer lives in Southwest Portland. Monday, June 21, 2010. If yo...

The Bipartisan Rules: Ron Paul rising
http://bipartisanrules.blogspot.com/2012/01/ron-paul-rising.html
Raising hell since 2008. Third in Iowa, second in New Hampshire. The story of this election season is unquestionably Ron Paul. Paul has routinely been doubling, if not tripling (as he did in New Hampshire) his vote share from 2008. This means his ideas are taking hold. As Pat Buchanan suggested today in his column for The American Conservative. The reality is that, on deficits, entitlements, executive power, excessive overseas adventurism, and yes, the Federal Reserve, Paul has been a prophet of doom.
