It’s been a huge gap in updates on the blog, but mostly because there’s been nothing exciting to report…until now! I’m officially reaching the end of the braces road and today marks 2 weeks until I get them off! Cue the Hallelujah Chorus! I’m now 6 weeks post-op and went for my follow-up appointment on Monday with my surgeon, Dr. O. We snapped a picture – she’s a little, teeny thing, but she’s a firecracker! The two don't really belong together, but here I am anyway with braces in my mid-40's! Saturday, December 3, 2011. 2 days until splint freedom. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that while I’ll be getting this nasty splint out on Monday, it’ll only be a temporary reprieve. I’ll be splint-free for less than 24 hours, but hopefully that’ll be enough to give me a feel for what it will be like to try to talk normally again. Posted by VW Family.
