Thinking Clearly and Writing Lucidly. March 15, 2015. Grocery Shopping With Obby. I’ve been reading The Devil’s Panties. For years now. I’ve always enjoyed its slice-of-life humor. Since creator Jennie Breeden married Obby, there have been occasional position-taking strips. Obbie is listed as co-writer these days, maybe he’s more of an advocate. This one is very much to the point:. The Devil’s Panties goes on a diet. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Thinking Clearly and Writing Lucidly. September 27, 2015. Bees are not aliens–When real news is not weird enough. This is apparently my day. To rag on Chuck Shepherd. In today’s News of the Weird. Chuck writes, “ An ovipositor is the organ that inserts or receives an egg (especially from parasites like bees — and that thing in “Alien”). Bees are not parasites! They lay their eggs in various structures they make, whether hives. Holes in the ground. Or holes drilled in wood. March 15, 2015. I had the pleas...

Non-standard Linguistics (new series) 3 Greek and Greek Philosophy. Hi again, everybody! In the publisher’s ‘blurb’, it is suggested that Nicolaides also ‘makes a convincing case that the power of the Greek language played a large role [in this intellectual revolution]’. This specific aspect of his position invites skeptical-linguistic attention. Whatever the strengths of Nicolaides’ other ideas, these specifically linguistic aspects of his thesis cannot at present be taken seriously. From your own site.

Dawning Sun before the moonlight eyes, a hollowed dusk no older than a stranger, I step into a symphony of wispy light awakening fresh, Tossed and turned spaghetti bound bed I lie. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Action Figures and 3-D Printing. 3-D printing is pretty damn cool. I have limited access to the use of a 3-D printer and I've recently tried to make some original designs for use with my various action figures. One of my most notable attempts was to create a small "stage" to use as an environment to just take simple photos of the figures. Not good. Not good at all. As the paint dried, it kind of shriveled and distorted the wall section and the floor panel. Ugh. Oh, that's good!

Thinking Clearly and Writing Lucidly. July 17, 2015. I’ve been eating much more healthily lately. Losing weight quite rapidly, to the point where my pants are falling down embarassingly and even the unpleated ones are pleating now when I put on my belt. Part of that is buying more veggies (and eating them, of course). So I was a regular at the Best Yet Market on my route home. Great selection of produce, reasonable prices, clean, nice staff. And now I can’t buy from them. 8220;Detox With Food! And how on...

June 11, 2015 · 8:47 am. Diamond in the Rough, a.k.a. WTF, Disney? You’ve heard the phrase. A diamond in the rough. Somebody who’s full of potential but has a coarse exterior. But what do you think the phrase means in a literal sense? I’ll tell you what I thought. My entire life, I was under the impression it meant a diamond buried deep in the ground that needed to be unearthed, a gem hidden below the surface that could be brought to the fore. Is that what you thought too? You’re a freakin’ chamillionaire.
