Project #9 – Broken-rib vest | rebekahmacd

https://rebekahmacd.wordpress.com/2012/02/13/project-9-broken-rib-vest

This is stuff I like. Or want to like. Or whatever. Project #9 – Broken-rib vest. In my previous post I talked about the upcoming projects I have. The first of these was knitting a woollen vest for the baby, using a broken-rib stitch. It also has a garter-stitch yoke and crocheted edges. I’ve finished the majority of the vest – just need to learn how to crochet, and my Mummy will teach me that when she arrives in just over a week! I’d originally planned not to do the crocheting, since I don’t...I really ...

This is a catch up post, with all of the projects I’ve done since the last one I wrote about, which was the Broken Rib vest way back in February 2012. Shocking. https:/ rebekahmacd.wordpress.com/2012/02/13/project-9-broken-rib-vest/. I’ve made quite a few things since then! Then there were some more bootees for Evelyn:. Pancake Day is a good day | rebekahmacd

https://rebekahmacd.wordpress.com/2012/02/22/pancake-day-is-a-good-day

This is stuff I like. Or want to like. Or whatever. Pancake Day is a good day. Seth prepared the thicker batter.). After chatting with lovely chef Mark Greenaway on Twitter (he’s the chef at Edinburgh’s Hawke and Hunter, a place I’ve been wanting to eat at for ages), the glorious suggestion of cooking caramelised apples to go with the pancakes arose, so I decided to do my own version of that. (Mark’s recipe is on the Informed Edinburgh. Site, and looks amazing.). Project #9 – Broken-rib vest. It's a...

In between knitting… sewing! | rebekahmacd

https://rebekahmacd.wordpress.com/2012/09/22/in-between-knitting-sewing

This is stuff I like. Or want to like. Or whatever. In between knitting… sewing! We found some beautiful made curtains for two of the rooms, so that meant we only had to make two sets of curtains instead of four – excellent! However, we were initially thwarted by bad weather (rain and walking around with a baby are not a great mix); the only fabric shop I knew not selling curtain fabric; closing hours of shops; and difficulty with the sewing machine we borrowed from the lovely Tara. I must admit sewing h...

Library Lover: February 2013

http://libraryloverjulia.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

Thoughts about libraries, books and everything in between :). Thursday, 14 February 2013. Book Review: Solomon's Oak by Jo-Ann Mapson. This is an excellent novel by Jo-Ann Mapson. She is the author of eleven novels and a book of short stories. I don’t think any book review can do justice to Mapson’s writing. This book was exceptional. I was totally engrossed in this book from start to finish. I give this book five out of five stars. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. My Best Friends Ar...

Thoughts about libraries, books and everything in between :). Tuesday, 19 November 2013. LIANZA Otago/Southland Weekend School, Dunedin, 15-17 November 2013. I recently attended the Otago/Southland LIANZA Weekend School and thought I would record my thoughts on a valuable weekend. These are the points that stood out to me the most. Be proud of NZ and LIANZA-we are important on the international stage-take advantage of that. Don't feel like you are working in isolation-there are always ways to connect.

Library Lover: April 2013

http://libraryloverjulia.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Thoughts about libraries, books and everything in between :). Monday, 22 April 2013. Book Review: Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. I was so excited to finally read the last book in the "The Infernal Devices'"series and I was not disappointed! Cassandra Clare has written a fantastic finale book. I often feel let down by the last book in a series; sometimes they are anticlimatic, lack a fast paced plot, or just don't end the way I hoped. Friday, 19 April 2013. Weekly inspiration 15- 19 April. Hopeful...

CONFESSION for the CHURCH. We carry weight and we don’t even know it. The fullness of you isn’t complacency. The fullness of you isn’t guarded. The fullness of you isn’t defensive. The fullness of you gives back. Gives more. Smiles often. Extends a hand. Holds head high and lifts arms higher. Jesus’ fullness is the brightest part of you. It radiates. It beams. It stares death and shame and hardness in the face and it MELTS it. This Is. Possible. For everyone. Why would we ever doubt it? It’s no dif...
