Follow the adventures of Louie the vizsla. Monthly Archives: November 2014. NW1 Trial – Take 2. November 30, 2014. On Saturday we headed to Sacramento for another NW1 trial. Rain was forecasted for the day, which was a bit concerning since Louie hates rain and odor behaves differently in wet conditions. We arrived at American River College, setup our parking spot for the day and started the long wait for Louie’s first two runs. Stalk pigeons in the parking lot, of course. November 13, 2014. Follow the adventures of Louie the vizsla. November 13, 2014. Earlier this year we took a small vacation to South Lake Tahoe. We figured it would be a good vacation to take Louie on and a chance to do some hiking in a different area. The first morning of the trip we actually headed away from Lake Tahoe to a smaller lake, Echo Lake. It was a nice trail and we didn’t see any other people until we were almost done with our hike. It will usually include some kind of treat and a toy and each box comes with at least four items. I purchased a six month subscription. Here’s what came in this box:. Peanut butter and molasses treats. Grilled chicken treats. Side note: these smell really good, like an herb bread. Waiting for his goodies.

Follow the adventures of Louie the vizsla. January 4, 2015. A couple months ago I was able to connect with the owner of Louie’s littermate, Yuba, via the vizsla Facebook page. They were living in San Francisco, but were in the process of trying to move to the east bay. They have now moved into their new house and we made plans to meet for a hike. We met them at Morgan Territory and headed out for a two hour hike. At least Risco looked at the camera. NW1 Trial – Take 2. Louie Turns 3 →. Sent from my iPhone.

https://lifewithlouiethedog.wordpress.com/2014/07/01/nose-work-field-trip
Follow the adventures of Louie the vizsla. Nose Work Field Trip. July 1, 2014. Over the weekend, Louie’s nose work class took a field trip so the dogs could search a different location. The first search area was a horse trailer, which was parked next to a field of goats. Turning around because he caught the odor. The hide is in the white handle on the bucket. The hide is in the star on the table. The last search was good practice for the interior element trial that Louie is entered in two weeks from now.

Level 1 Element Trial – Interiors | Life with Louie
https://lifewithlouiethedog.wordpress.com/2014/07/20/level-1-element-trial-interiors
Follow the adventures of Louie the vizsla. Level 1 Element Trial – Interiors. July 20, 2014. Last weekend Louie competed in his first nose work trial. It wasn’t an NW1 trial, but an element trial for interior searches only. This particular trial consisted of four interior searches with one hide in each area. The first hide had a time limit of two minutes and the other three would each be a minute long. The trial was a good experience because it’s just more practice for Louie in new environments.
