Reels and Bobbins: May 2013

http://www.reelsandbobbins.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Thursday, May 23, 2013. Me and my husband have been thinking about taking a vacation soon. Our three year wedding anniversary is coming up and I would love to take it around that time. For the past few years our vacations have been taken in Mexico. We always have a good time there. This year, however, we are planning on crossing the Atlantic Ocean. Here are some spots that I have in mind so far. Is one of my top choices. I guess our decision is going to come down to Island vs. City? Saturday, May 18, 2013.

Wednesday, May 14, 2014. DVF: Journey of a Dress. As I walked in to the main room, I was greeted with a sea of white maniquins who were wearing her famous jersey wrap dress in every bright printed pattern you could possibly imagine. Here are some of my favorite prints. The Andy Warhol flower print definitely takes the cake. Photos: Reels and Bobbins. Posted by Araceli Gomez. Labels: Diane Von Furstenberg. Journey of a dress. Reels and Bobbins: July 2014

Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Circus Themed Baby Shower. I tried to stay away from the traditional red that is used often used in these themed parties. Instead I took elements from the circus and added some whimsical details. Most of our decorations were DIY projects. All the circus animals were spray painted gold. The striped paper straws were a must. I tried to stick to a mint and gold palette, although I did incorporate some light blues and yellows. I spent a few days on Pinterest. Posted by Araceli Gomez.

Reels and Bobbins: DIY: Circus Animal Favors

http://www.reelsandbobbins.com/2014/08/diy-circus-animal-favors.html

Monday, August 4, 2014. DIY: Circus Animal Favors. For our baby shower last month, I was stuck on the idea of gold circus animal favors. I looked every where in stores and online, but couldn't find anything that I really liked, so i decided to make my own. My first task was to buy novelty animal toys. Much to my surprise, I couldn't find them locally. I checked toy and party stores, but found nothing. I ended up buying them from this online store. This blog from Chris Loves Julia. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Loving these painted photographs by artist. Aren't these just breathtaking? Her style is like an interpretation of dream or at least the kind of dreams I have, very surreal, melancholic and magical. Posted by Araceli Gomez. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. I hope everyone is having a happy and festive New Year's! 2012 was a such a great year, but I can't wait to see what 2013 has in store for me. Cheers, and here's to welcoming 2013. I'm working on a new design project and Kipling, as you can tell, is being very helpful. The show I'm designing is nautical and whimsical Twelfth Night. It's a lighthearted play and I want to keep it very playful. Here are a couple snippets from my show mood board. Now it's time for me to get back to sketching! I've only been to Disneyland once. I'm ashamed to say I did not dress this well. Now realizing that I missed a fabulous hat and pearl wearing opportunity. Out on the town. Little Miss Big Shot.
