Sunday, May 5, 2013. Behold the Bridegoom is Coming. See, I have told you beforehand. The message this morning had three parts, each with a warning and each with a promise. 1 The parable of the wise and foolish virgins. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. In which the Son of Man is coming. 2 The parable of the talents. For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

Monday, May 13, 2013. The Rooster Still Crows. Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed. We have several rose bushes at our house. Only one blooms at a different time than the others. It’s peek blooming time is Mother’s Day. That rose bush is a “rooster” in my life. The rooster still crows in each of our lives, reminding us of very different memories. But, for each one, God plans beauty. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Rooster Still Crows.

Monday, April 8, 2013. The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, 'Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.'. So his fellow servant fell down at his feet. And begged him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.'. We know the parable. We know we are commanded to forgive. Yet, for far too many Christians, forgiveness is an option based on our feelings, the perception of our rights, or the repentance of the one who has violated us. Did you ignore them? Watch God's trig...

Sunday, April 28, 2013. What Do You Think About the Christ? Our message opened this morning with a question from Pastor Dale: “Is the Lord big enough to handle your problems? And yet, Jesus uses the replies to these questions to cause us to stop and consider: where do we go when these questions of life plague us? Do we seek the One who is the source of all wisdom? Whom will we trust as the plans of our lives unfold? Do our conclusions prevent us from seeing God in all His glory and power?

Monday, April 1, 2013. Come and See. Go and Tell. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Here's what He said: Matthew 16:21. From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. I scanned through the book of Matthew, looking for statements of Jesus. I love knowing that I can trust in every one of them. Take My yoke upo...

Into the Deep: November 2012

http://standfast-in-him.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 29, 2012. 14 Years and Counting. Today is Faith's 14th Birthday. Another milestone - for both of us. I can't help but relive those moments prior to and including her entrance into this world: they were amazing. Full of what-if's, questions and concerns, and the ultimate statement I had been waiting 7 months to hear: she is a miracle. Wednesday, November 14, 2012. And that for which I am most thankful for. Into the Deep: Flying

http://standfast-in-him.blogspot.com/2013/01/flying.html

Saturday, January 12, 2013. Faith got a new bird today. We've not had birds as pets before, so I'm not really sure how this is all going to go. I do know a dog who thinks this may be an intriguing new toy. Hmmm. Faith has been assuring us that she is ready for this new responsibility - I love that word as it joins her vocabulary. I think this is a growing season for her. She named the bird Twitter. January 18, 2013 at 6:36 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Into the Deep: October 2012

http://standfast-in-him.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 31, 2012. I recently traveled to Kentucky, and Alabama, to see family. I wish the reasons were more cheerful. Normally, when I think of going back there it is because of a vacation or holiday. Christmas or New Years at my parents is a delight! Summer in Alabama is beautiful - a stark contrast from the desert of San Diego. This trip, however, was sparked by a very different motivation. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. A tiny gray blur jumped out at me this morning as I was reaching for more traveling cups in my garage. I was startled, to say the least! A mouse had climbed out of my stash of hot cocoa mix and ran away, only 6 inches from my bare feet. I shrieked. I believe this was an appropriate response to such an occasion. Says He hedges me in behind and before. This is wonderful comfort! And yet.I have my part - my response - as well. Jude 1:21. Me to keep myself in the love of God.

Into the Deep: Time Passing

http://standfast-in-him.blogspot.com/2012/09/time-passing.html

Sunday, September 30, 2012. I am getting ready to send my 2nd box off to Hungary. The first one took only 6 days to receive, and the letter I sent 7 days, so I am feeling very confident! The fun a little box can bring. A second month is ready to begin over in Hungary. It seems so strange to say that she has been gone a whole month! Oh yes, 8 tracks! I am glad things are settling in with your daughters. I am waiting to wear a sweater too :). October 5, 2012 at 5:36 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
