REFLECTIONS OF A MOM: Fight Back With Joy - a Review
http://reflectionsofamom.blogspot.com/2015/01/fight-back-with-joy-review.html
REFLECTIONS OF A MOM. Fight Back With Joy - a Review. I have had the privilege of reading Margaret Feinberg's new book, Fight Back with Joy. I am excited to share my review with you, but more importantly, I'm excited to share one of my favorite authors and speakers with you! Last year, Margaret was diagnosed with breast cancer and embarked on a journey of diagnosis, surgery, treatments and much more, as she describes in her new book, Fight Back With Joy. Along with Margaret's journey, there is Leif's jou...

REFLECTIONS OF A MOM. On healing from past hurts. So I got into a Facebook argument with a friend from high school last week. What's new, right? That's what Facebook is all about it seems these days, right? Ha No, this was pretty interesting. I didn't mean to get into a Facebook argument. Anyway, this needed to be written for me. I think it is part of my continued healing. Some may not get it. That's OK. It wasn't written for you. I have forgiven long ago. People will be held accountable for their ac...

REFLECTIONS OF A MOM. Not Just Another Sappy Love Song. I know the last few blogs have been full of heavy stuff. An inside to the shame and guilt I've carried throughout out all these years. Today, I wanted to share the picture of love. Redeeming love. I've been working on this blog post for several weeks, and I guess it seems appropriate to finally come all together the day before Valentine's Day. We are all a mess, if we admit it. It's just better when we get to the point of admitting our shortcomi...
REFLECTIONS OF A MOM: December 2014
http://reflectionsofamom.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
REFLECTIONS OF A MOM. I have found some very encouraging, uplifting, healing blogs that have kind of helped push me forward in opening about my recovery from addiction with food. Disordered eating, whatever you want to call it. These blogs or Facebook pages encouraged me to look at myself as OK just the way that I am. The one that has currently had the most positive impact you can find HERE! But if I believed they weren't there, they weren't there. Ha! There is nothing wrong with having to shop specialty...

REFLECTIONS OF A MOM. Just A Little Update on Us. It's hard to believe that I will soon have a 4th grader and a Kindergartner. Yikes! That was Friday. Today is Wednesday and we still haven't heard anything. So, I'm sitting here, waiting to hear back from my dad to see if he has cancer. Kind of puts a negative turn on summer, huh? It just stinks that I am sitting here, waiting to see if my dad has cancer, which would most likely be terminal. Do they stay close to three hours away? How do we handle frequen...

Radioactive Snowfall: May 2010
http://radioactivesnowfall.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Some Deep Thoughts. Others. Not So Much. Tuesday, May 25, 2010. Random Thoughts - 5-25-10. When I eat a Reese’s peanut butter cup and there is a little bit of chocolaty goodness stuck to the bottom of the wrapper… I lick that goodness right off the paper. I don’t care who sees me. I don’t buy lottery tickets. Pretty sure that will negate that last sentence I just wrote. Me: So… they gave you some money? That’s great. Let’s go to a movie! Req: What part of “homeless” do you not understand? Req: You are th...

Radioactive Snowfall: February 2011
http://radioactivesnowfall.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Some Deep Thoughts. Others. Not So Much. Sunday, February 27, 2011. Why does it HURT so much? I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago. It was the first hospitalization I had ever personally had - and I was in my 40s. So, I thought that was pretty good. The pain that led me to the doctor, which led me to the ER, which led to the x-ray and ultrasound and finally led to surgery was pretty bad. But, I did not curse. I thought of curse words, but they did not come out. And then. the pain. I am officiall...

Radioactive Snowfall: March 2010
http://radioactivesnowfall.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Some Deep Thoughts. Others. Not So Much. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. I am not a proponent of spring. I'll admit it. It is one of those things that make me not like other people I am around. Like the fact that I don't want to have children of my own. Or the fact that I hate Pot Roast. I have covered these areas before. This just goes onto a long list of issues that make me Who. I. Am. You, my three readers, will need to deal with it. Why am I not a proponent of spring? I played outside in the woods! We playe...

Some Deep Thoughts. Others. Not So Much. Monday, April 08, 2013. Much has happened in a Year. So, when I last blogged, my great-nephew was born, my father was diagnosed with a heart condition, my mother had a stroke - as a result of the same heart condition as my father - and I was still in school. Let me update you on a few facts of life that have occurred since then:. 1 I am STILL in school. But, I am getting ever closer to graduation! If I play my cards right, I may graduate by the end of the summer.

Reflections of a Mommy. A little different than the typical mommy blog! Had we left our hotel 5 minutes later…. September 4, 2012. We walked down M St. towards Georgetown. We sat down at the table . Reflections of a Mother Dealing with Autism
Monday, January 26, 2009. It seems that everywhere you look there are examples of just how crumby the economy has gotten. A sad reminder that nothing is permanent, that there are no guarantees. Unfortunately, a program for which I have a lot of respect and a lot of passion about might be on the chopping block, due to cuts in the budgets. Both of my sons attended the Northern Utah Autism. L was not speaking, was not potty trained, and exhibited. Improved. Because of NUAP. He was able to go on to a regular...
