As in, I wanted to have this blog up by January 1st, but wound up not getting it done until three weeks later. As in, being easily distracted by shiny things, or even not-so-shiny things. As in, finding absolutely anything to do except what I should be doing, thereby putting even more pressure on myself to get things done. No public Twitter messages. Random thoughts while multitasking my way through life. The First Step…. July 8, 2015. The first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. So, I guess it’s time to admit that I have a problem, more of an addiction really. I am going to need to just blurt it out. I currently have these journals…. And these Moleskine notebooks…. I even have small notebooks…. Oh, and the pens…. I’ve been using these Pentel Wow! It’s time to get back to my NaNo story. Happy writing! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Romance Beneath A Rodeo Moon. Since the Bronc Rider and I are both retired from our day jobs, we decided to make a special effort to visit things close to us that we've always been too busy to see. A few weeks ago, we visited Leslie Gulch and Succor Creek located outside of the small town of Adrian, Oregon. A few days ago, we took a couple of days and drove to central Oregon to the Steens Mountains. I was blown away by the stark beauty and the overwhelming size of the area. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Things in the Skye: Squish
http://thingsintheskye.blogspot.com/2014/06/squish.html
Things in the Skye. A journal of self-exploration, therapy, and odd thoughts. Thursday, June 5, 2014. I gained more insight into my attitudes toward strength, bravery, and resilience this week. It comes down to stress balls and Silly Putty. My fight or flight reflex? Did I stand up for myself in any of these situations? My therapist asked me what those things do. And resilience is like the squishy ball that returns to its inherent shape after being poked and prodded and squashed. I find metaphors to be v...

Mary Stella's Postcards from Paradise: Boating and Dolphins = Joy
http://marystella.blogspot.com/2012/05/boating-and-dolphins-joy.html
Sunday, May 06, 2012. Boating and Dolphins = Joy. It's no secret to anyone that I love being out on the water. I have had a bad jones for a boat trip for weeks now. I hadn't been out on my boat since before Christmas! Got the steering repaired, but the wind and bad weather continued. There were great conditions one week in April, but, of course, it was the week that I was away! Today, everything came together! So, a brief delay, but not a fun-stopper. With the boat now properly drained, we fired up t...

Thursday, October 27, 2011. Bad Asses, Jerk Whisperers, and Recognizing Our Own Awesome. Honey, I'm home! I'd love to say that I've been absent from the blog for several weeks because I was whisked away on an exotic trip by a thrilling man. Or because I was on the verge of a breakthrough on fixing every world problem. Or because I've been in deep negotiations to sell my books for major motion pictures. Hell, I haven't even been to see a movie in a couple of months. In addition to the written work, YouTub...

Mary Stella's Postcards from Paradise: March 2012
http://marystella.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 05, 2012. My aunt called me last night to chat. She wanted to know how I was doing post-surgery. I wanted to know how she's doing since my uncle passed away in December. Toward the end of the phone call she remembered something that she'd meant to tell me before. She's going to be a great-grandmother! The older daughter of one of my cousins will deliver her first child in August. Old Child eyes don't see the vibrancy, the beauty, or, God forbid, the sexiness. So, I'm really not sure why the...

Mary Stella's Postcards from Paradise: February 2012
http://marystella.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 26, 2012. Over the last year or so, I realized that, prepare yourself for the shock bibliophiles, I have too many books in my house. The paperbacks are double stacked on my floor to ceiling bookshelves. My master bedroom was overrun with bags of books. The office that could qualify me as a hoarder had boxes teetering on other boxes of books until I couldn't find the room to even walk into the room. I wasn't allowed to lift any boxes or bags so Mar dragged them out of my office to my recl...
