the league of reluctant adults: League auctions and viral videos
http://reluctantadults.blogspot.com/2011/03/league-auctions-and-viral-videos.html
Thursday, March 17, 2011. League auctions and viral videos. Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am currently in what writers affectionately call "deadline hell." I have a book due in four days and am working very hard to meet that deadline, which means I'm a hermit in a bathrobe who isn't going anywhere except for twitter. And no, it's not as glamorous as it sounds. Anyway, thought I'd post a couple links and a video today here at the League. Richelle Mead also has a bunch of auctions. Or www.RedCross.ca. Now tha...
the league of reluctant adults: 5 Great Horror Movies to Rinse the Bad Taste of Ouija Away
http://reluctantadults.blogspot.com/2015/02/5-great-horror-movies-to-rinse-bad.html
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. 5 Great Horror Movies to Rinse the Bad Taste of Ouija Away. In my ongoing effort to save you from studio horror movies cobbled together from the compressed shit of Hollywood burnouts, I bring you alternatives to OUIJA! OUIJA has hit DVD/VOD and there's nothing we can do about that but don our gas masks, hunker down and pray for dawn. A horrifying prospect, but at least we can be entertained while waiting for the fallout to subside. If you say ANABELLE, you're dead to me). I...
the league of reluctant adults: THE WRITE PRETENDAS
http://reluctantadults.blogspot.com/2011/10/write-pretendas.html
Friday, October 7, 2011. WE at the League of Reluctant Adults are pissed. Miffed. Put out. Thoroughly riled. We don't often get political, nor do we often get angry. But an angry Leaguer is an UGLY thing. Just look at Mark over there, all snarly with rage. Why are we angry, you ask? BECAUSE WE DIDN'T GET BOYCOTTED. Because they attack two of the best friends an author or an aspiring author can ever have: Writer Beware. And Absolute Write Water Cooler. They also bear the cross of a darker duty, which is w...

Kathy's Book Pile: October 2014
https://kabookpile.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Give me magic, gadgets, monsters, zombies, everything that seems impossible, and throw in some tough chicks with swords. That's the stuff. Monday, October 13, 2014. Temporarily Out of Order". Temporally Out of Order" by Justin Adams of Varia Studio. I'm currently reading CLOCKWORK UNIVERSE: STEAMPUNK VS ALIENS and having a lot of fun with it. The same folks behind that anthology are in the final hours of a kickstarter campaign for another one: TEMPORARILY OUT OF ORDER. This project is already funded (YAY!
Kathy's Book Pile: 2014 Movie Report
https://kabookpile.blogspot.com/2015/01/2014-movie-report.html
Give me magic, gadgets, monsters, zombies, everything that seems impossible, and throw in some tough chicks with swords. That's the stuff. Saturday, January 3, 2015. I am not a big movie fan. Actually, this isn't true. I do love movies. I just rarely find many that are worth the time to watch them, especially when I could use that time (and money) for more books. Here are the ones that I remember watching in 2014. Mostly ones I loved, because honestly I refused to sit through many that I disliked. Loved ...
Kathy's Book Pile: Recipe: Crockpot Lava Cake
https://kabookpile.blogspot.com/2015/01/recipe-crockpot-lava-cake.html
Give me magic, gadgets, monsters, zombies, everything that seems impossible, and throw in some tough chicks with swords. That's the stuff. Friday, January 2, 2015. Recipe: Crockpot Lava Cake. Might not look pretty, but it tastes good! I got this recipe years ago from one of the hosts of Good Day Sacramento (I can't remember her name - I know, bad, bad, bad). I hand wrote it on a piece of paper and stuck it in my favorite cookie cookbook. 2 tbsp baking cocoa. 2 tbsp baking powder. 2 tbsp vegetable oil.

Kindling Press: June 2012
http://kindlingpress.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 25, 2012. We live in a black well of interconnectedness. Does that sound like a contradiction? This is why writers go on retreats. Being off the grid is a tremendously liberating experience. I highly recommend any creative person makes a regular practice of it. There is nothing like the absolute freedom of gazing from one side of the horizon to the other and seeing not a single living soul. And what follows is a burst of creative energy unlike any other you have experienced.
Kindling Press: August 2012

Friday, August 31, 2012. The Next Project (Jason's first post in *how* long? I'm thinking something shorter than a novel. I've got an agent to sell those now; what I want is something I can publish myself, put out and sell right away. (The money's nice on traditional publishing. The waiting isn't.) I've got a few ideas, one that I'm working on with Peter is to put together a pair or trio of novellas with a particular (perhaps secret? I think I like that plan. I think I'm on it. Labels: work in progress.
Kindling Press: October 2011

Monday, October 31, 2011. Truly, though, I don't object. Happy Halloween, and all that. Enjoy it, if you're able to do so on a Monday, or if you already did over the weekend. I'll be sitting at home, having some dinner, probably watching Cabaret because Netflix sent it along. Inappropriate, I know. Maybe we'll dig up a horror movie we can watch instantly? Happy Halloween in any case. Friday, October 28, 2011. You Yes, you. You're awesome. 20,001: A Steampunk Odyssey. Or you may be here because you want t...

Zero at the bone. Reluctantabandon's presence here. Let me add…. It’s been a tough two years since I started. You can tell, because I haven’t posted a thing. How many life-ruiners are out there, anyway? And why are they all so YOUNG? Someone gimme a hot dad, quick! This entry was posted in Life n Shit. And tagged fucking kids. August 23, 2015.

Knitting in 3/4 time. Monday, April 28, 2014. Dr Knitlove, or how I learned to stop worrying and love cabling. Lo and behold, the wondrous power of the interwebs has delivered unto me (and you! A solution. Elegant, streamlined, less than scary, thanks to the many knitters before me who've also dreaded the "I've dropped a stitch and I can't pick it back up" syndrome. What is the glorious new-to-me technique? Friday, October 11, 2013. And now for some actual knitting content. Tuesday, October 08, 2013.

Tales of a Reluctant Activist. One man's fight with himself to make the world a better place. About the Reluctant Activist. How Can One Person Change Congress? Can one average citizen change Congress? No But can one politically engaged citizen change Congress? One Person Cannot Change Congress. When I entered the school multi-purpose room, he. The crowd grew restless. For the next several minutes various audience members tried to get the man to quiet down by shouting, “Let him (Miller) talk! Eventually, ...

Thanks for visiting my web site and expressing an interest in my travels, I have been on my walkabout the past six years, the term ‘walkabout’ referring to my desire to travel without a set destination or time frame. The more common term perhaps is wanderlust. That's not to say that I don’t have some general guidelines for my travels. I have been visiting National and State Parks. From my book for you to get a taste of my travels. Thank you again for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.
