Walking Home From Oz. I have a tendency to make things more complicated than they need to be. These are my stories. February 11, 2014. People took notice, and wanted their heights marked too. We always oblige. Next to each line, we write the person’s name and a rough description of their shoes. Because science requires accurate measurements and controls. This is how I know that I am 10″ taller than the CIO, and two inches shorter than the tallest woman in the building. From → Uncategorized. Hyperbole and...

out of my head: January 2014
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Saturday, January 18, 2014. Not sure how or what to write. I have two weeks left of work on the thing. Yet I can't seem to hunker down with it. I had one of the best teaching experiences at the college level in a long time as well. My groups were rowdy and funny and engaged and curious. They were frustrated by the difficulty of the course. But that's always to be expected (the soft bigotry of low expectations). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Not sure how or what to write. Student in her mid-...

out of my head: August 2011
http://outofmyheadish.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Out of my head. Monday, August 15, 2011. It's the little things. Literally. We have a functional house by all intents and purposes. But we still need to finish the little things. The list is long and my patience and time seem to be running short. Little things that take forever. Took a nice vacation at Martha's Vineyard. This vacation consisted mostly of sitting on the porch and reading Bossypants. And Endgame: The Problem of Civilization:. Two great tastes that taste great together. Efforts are not enou...

Tack, tack, tack! 2009-07-25 @ 22:33:28 Permalink.

Walking Home From Oz. I have a tendency to make things more complicated than they need to be. These are my stories. Oh, the Things That You’ll Eat! February 10, 2014. Roasted Almonds in Chocolate and Himalayan Sea Salt. I told a friend today that if my day were a Dr Seuss book, that would be it’s title. He dared me to write it. Fool. Oh, the Things That You’ll Eat! First I ate sausage. And two clementines,. Then some mixed nuts,. And that’s all before 9! Then came an apple. And other such fruit. I love t...

May 14, 2015 3 Comments. 1 Driving tightens my adductors. 2 I’m not great at following the prescribed rules. I often begin with compliance, but eventually a tendency towards questioning takes over. I like to analyze, contextualize, extract meaning and find resonance. I guess you can say I’m a bona fide shithead. 5 Kapotasana B is currently the finely honed razor’s edge of my existence. The subtleties of life, poetry, photography, yoga, awareness in the present, perfect imperfection. Friday, June 3, 2011. I never liked the color red,Things a mother should never say to her daughter. Red is not my favorite color. I have told you this many times. Yet you buy me red clothes and make me wear red. As well as itchy stiff, poofy , crinolines, in the wet humid muggy heat of summer. You say you know me better, even than I know myself. Do you seriously mean what you just said? Let's not talk about it!

Rhiannon's Kairos: June 2011
http://rhiannonskairos.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
The subtleties of life, poetry, photography, yoga, awareness in the present, perfect imperfection. Thursday, June 30, 2011. One of my favorite poems , on this warm summer day;. In sixth grade Mrs. Walker. Slapped the back of my head. And made me stand in the corner. For not knowing the difference. Between persimmon and precision. Persimmons. This is precision. Ripe ones are soft and brown-spotted. Sniff the bottoms. The sweet one. Will be fragrant. How to eat:. Put the knife away, lay down newspaper. Warm a...
