Ponderings from the road less travelled. December 6, 2011. On July 6th, 2011, everything changed. In other words, this was so much bigger than me. Truly, it was God-sized. A divine moment. As part of that, God has done to me what He’s done to many before me, likely for the same reasons. He’s led me out into the proverbial desert, in an unknown direction, for an undefined length of time. To dwell in solitude. To become silent. And to simply listen. Isn’t that the point? Lived as a stranger camping in tents.

Ponderings from the road less travelled. You Will Know It When You See It. July 6, 2012. Today is Friday, 06 July 2012. Besides being intensely hot in Chicago – as it is in much of the rest of the Midwest and Atlantic states – there’s nothing all that different or remarkable about this particular day, as far as I can tell. Ponderings from the road less travelled. October 25, 2013. The city where I was born. The city where I was adopted. The city I returned to post-college. The city where my first career began. The city where I met my wife. The city where I had my first apartment. The city where I’ve run, swam, biked, played volleyball. And 16″ softball. The city where I’ve sampled some of the finest meals I’ve ever had. The city whose teams I’ve cheered, screamed, prayed and cried for. The city where I began a new career.

Tears In The Airport. I’m leaving General Conference 2016 and there are tears in the corners of my eyes. It’s not because I am sad to leave. I know in part it is due to the fact that I’m spent after an exhausting 12 days in Portland. I also know something deeper happened in my spirit here that will take some time to move through. In my recent book,. My belief in the church, though, took some hits. Still crying, still believing. On May 20, 2016 at 10:24 pm. On May 20, 2016 at 11:38 pm. Yes, almost there!
