A Simple Guide to Spring in Sonoma, Marin, Napa, Lake, and Nearby Counties in California. Sonoma County Coast – Stillwater Cove Regional Park. July 3, 2012. This is one of the finest examples of a coastal redwood forest I have even seen. Spring fizzled but in the midst of it all I could do was visit old haunts and try to find some new ones. Not as many “new to me” flowers found, but that number should be smaller every year. Two great spots which didn’t disappoint (in a wildflower sense) I checked out were:. Sagehen Creek near Truckee, California.
