A Brief Hiatus |
https://yaindulgences.wordpress.com/2015/08/05/a-brief-hiatus
August 5, 2015. By Amber (YA Indulgences). I have sort of unfortunate news. I am going to be taking a hiatus from blogging. Long story short, there’s just a lot of drama at home right now and it’s hard to deal with. It’s sucking my energy and making blogging a chore. Anyway, for at least the next two weeks. While I’m on my hiatus, I will. Still be on Twitter, so feel free to hit me up there, always. I’ll be working on finishing some reviews, reading and possibly visiting some blogs. Mostly ...I am partic...

Mikayla's Bookshelf: The Wrath and The Dawn - Review
http://mikaylasbookshelf.blogspot.com/2015/10/the-wrath-and-dawn-review.html
Friday, 23 October 2015. The Wrath and The Dawn - Review. Shazi's wit and will, indeed, get her through to the dawn that no others have seen, but with a catch.she's falling in love with the very boy who killed her dearest friend. She discovers that the murderous boy-king is not all that he seems and neither are the deaths of so many girls. Shazi is determined to uncover the reason for the murders and to break the cycle once and for all. It may seem odd to say, but it's worth a mention that this is one of...

Mikayla's Bookshelf: Top Ten Tuesday - Halloween special
http://mikaylasbookshelf.blogspot.com/2015/10/top-ten-tuesday-halloween-special.html
Tuesday, 27 October 2015. Top Ten Tuesday - Halloween special. As always, a big thanks your to the fab bloggers over at The Broke and The Bookish. For this weekly meme! This week it's Halloween week on Top Ten Tuesday, so I'm celebrating my favourite scary reads. I love horror books and ghost stories despite being laughably easy to scare and having an overactive imagination, so I can't resist a good chiller! The Shining - Stephen King. Gerald's Game - Stephen King. A mysterious island, an abandoned orpha...

Mikayla's Bookshelf: Feature & Follow #6
http://mikaylasbookshelf.blogspot.com/2015/10/feature-follow-6.html
Friday, 30 October 2015. Feature and Follow #6. I've been on light duties at work this week with a dislocated shoulder, but that doesn't mean I'm any less glad to make it to the weekend! And since it's Friday, I'm breaking out another Feature and Follow. I haven't done this feature in a while (one plus to being laid up is having more time for books and blogging, even though typing left-handed takes about three times as long! So I'm glad to be able to get back to it! And Alison of Alison Can Read. I reall...

Totally Tansie: January 2015
http://totallytansie.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Update on Millionth Book Idea. Actually, it's not my millionth book idea. I know. I lied already, and it's only the beginning of the post. Shameful. But it is one of the many, MANY ideas I've already had this year- and it's only the end of the first month. *sigh* I like ideas, but they either come all at once or not at all. For a person whose life is practically planned on Post-It notes, this is extremely infuriating. But, hey- can't have everything. Who's his right hand man?

Mikayla's Bookshelf: Proofreading
http://mikaylasbookshelf.blogspot.com/p/proofreading.html
I've worked in marketing for over 10 years now and have worked on everything from small ad copy to documents clocking in at over 200 pages. Spelling, grammar, consistency, formatting, layout . running it through a spell checker just doesn't cut it. What I'm trying to say is, I'm nitpicky. A few points on this however:. 1 If your book is longer than a novella (say around 50,000 words), at this stage I will not be able to proofread it. 2 Let's talk timescales! 3 When proofreading, I will be looking for typ...

Hiver et Café: Mystery Twitter Theatre
http://hiveretcafe.blogspot.com/2015/03/mystery-twitter-theatre.html
You're not going to believe this. I just found out I'm a suspect in a crime. Noted YA blogger Ensconced in Lit. Was murdered yesterday and her body has been found on Twitter. Yep, you read that right- Twitter. Apparently the killer made off with a super-epic LIARS, INC. prize pack and now everyone thinks maybe it was me. Well guess what, it wasn't me because I was studying at the coffee shop, 'till late. Will you help prove my innocence? Head over to Paula Stokes's blog. Or should I say to kill for.
