Toronto Revisited: November 2011

http://revisitingtoronto.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Highlights of my return home after 10 years away. and some other stuff. Wednesday, 30 November 2011. Peter Kent - you suck. This is Peter Kent. You probably don't recognize him, because he's the worst. The Canadian Environment Minister doesn't care about the environment. It's sad and dangerous. A) happened in the past, and. B) amounted to very little in terms of what countries must do to save the planet. Yes, China, India and Brazil need to do it too, but Canada be a leader for once. Lament o to do list.

Toronto Revisited: March 2012

http://revisitingtoronto.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Highlights of my return home after 10 years away. and some other stuff. Friday, 23 March 2012. The post-winter pre-spring summer. Chillin in the sun at Christie Pitts. Today, the weather shifted and now, after a week of summer, we're back to the beginning of Spring, and we'll probably be sitting in the teen degrees for the next two months. I just hope summer hasn't passed us completely by with a week of fun in March. For accurate information on climate change in Canada check out the Pembina Institute.

Highlights of my return home after 10 years away. and some other stuff. Thursday, 24 May 2012. My one true bicycle love was my dahon d8 speed folding bike. ok, it let me down twice with near fatal accidents due to the parts not being tight enough and the bike falling into complete dissarray, but other than that. pure love. it was easy and light and beautiful. it could be stored in my miniature London flat without the constant worry of vandal or more likely theft by eleven year old. Sunday, 6 May 2012.

Toronto Revisited: El banco

http://revisitingtoronto.blogspot.com/2012/02/el-banco.html

Highlights of my return home after 10 years away. and some other stuff. Wednesday, 29 February 2012. But today, and really everyday, I have a beef to pick with Canadian banks. Several beefs in fact. Maybe a cows worth. Lots of Canadians probably don't know that British banks operate like this but. There are no monthly fees no matter how much money is in your chequing account. You can easily transfer money from one bank account to another online and for free. My top three beefs with Canadian banks are:.

Highlights of my return home after 10 years away. and some other stuff. Thursday, 1 March 2012. Top 5 things I love about Toronto today. Great, yet cheap, take away sushi at lunch. People saying their phone numbers in the same 3 3 4 rhythm. The sun is there when I wake up and is still up when I leave work - and it's March 1st. My bf and I have already kareoked in the city (and at different times, go Koreatown. Top 5 things I miss about London today. People make tea for each other at work. A bit of bother.

Westvleteren XII Saga – Was It Worth It? December 13, 2012 · pm. Homebrewing – why 1 Gallon? When I told other homebrewers I tried the 1 Gallon Brooklyn Brew Kit and now I plan on only brewing 1 gallon beers they seem to ask me the same question – why are you only brewing 1 gallon beers? Its seems to be more ‘normal’ in the homebrew culture to brew 3-5 gallons. The reasoning, they say, is because for the same amount of time/effort you get more beer. So here are my common answers to this question:. Keepin...

Newer posts →. November 29, 2012 · pm. England – Great British Beer Festival. There is probably only one word to describe my experience at the Great British Beer Festival. As we walked in we headed to the Belgium section – mainly because it was right by the entrance. The first thing I saw was a cask of Cantillon! There were beers from around the world. This year it was helped at The Olympia. The place was huge, but when we were there (during the day), it wasn’t too crowded. 3 Similar to Mondial, go in th...

England – Great British Beer Festival. Homebrew setup →. November 30, 2012 · pm. Homebrewing – how did I get here? I’ve always said I have no interest in homebrewing, mainly because 1: I don’t like cooking and brewing is similar, 2: I don’t have the room, 3: I have access to great beer so why bother? For $20 at Williams-Sonoma. So I thought, well why not try. The Kit has ‘everything’ you need and was specifically created for people who live in apartments/condos. So was all the drama over getting the rare Westveletern 12, the best beer in the world, worth it? In my opinion YES. Here’s are my thoughts on the Westy Saga:. Is this the best beer I’ve ever tasted in my life – No. I actually had this at my Prud’homme beer sommelier. Could the LCBO have done a better job at selling this? Why I did it? As some of you might know I hate line ups!
