http://revrows2.blogspot.com/2015/08/coaaach-rev-and-why-honorifics-are.html
Saturday, August 15, 2015. And why honorifics are important. I've recently moved to the B team at rowing because I need once and for all to rehab my shoulder and wrist properly, lose some weight, adjust my attitude, and get back to the high level of athleticism that I ask of myself and that my team asks of me. I am grateful for their invitation. My new coach Marc is known around the boathouse to be quite the philosopher. I am also so fortunate to be the interim Rector at a great Episcopal Church in Danvi...

RevRows! The musings of a priest and rower: a rowing epiphany for a Friday
http://revrows2.blogspot.com/2014/05/a-rowing-epiphany-for-friday.html
Friday, May 23, 2014. A rowing epiphany for a Friday. Universe Stained Glass at Grace Cathedral. Yesterday at practice Coach saw me erging and said "Stace, open up! I explained that my core strength is lacking and that I could not swing back farther without ending up ass-over-teakettle and that would be a very undignified look for a member of the clergy (ok, I just thought that last bit to myself.). It is completely counter-intuitive.our rational brain tells us that everything should be pulling or pu...

RevRows! The musings of a priest and rower: A Boathouse Sermon for today
http://revrows2.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-boathouse-sermon-for-today.html
Tuesday, October 1, 2013. A Boathouse Sermon for today. The other morning at O'Dark Hundred I heard a most inspiring sermon. At church, I am the one "up front" watching latecomers slip quietly into the pews. At the church of rowing, I sat on an erg and listened to what was being proclaimed behind me. And I came away and am still thinking about it days later. The mark of a good sermon? The people remember and ponder it. The question is, are these two Great Things actually the same thing? Finally, finally,...

RevRows! The musings of a priest and rower: favorite contemplations
http://revrows2.blogspot.com/2014/04/favorite-contemplations.html
Wednesday, April 16, 2014. The other is St. Vincent's Field.(my name for it at least) which is on my short drive from church to home. The field is ever-changing with the seasons and still is always the same, and I have been known to careen off 101 to my favorite spot both in the early mornings and in the evening as the sun goes down. RevRows! The musings of a priest and rower: Pastoring Alone, Together
http://revrows2.blogspot.com/2014/07/pastoring-alone-together.html
Sunday, July 13, 2014. Pastoring Alone, Together. I am staring down the end of my fifteen years of ministry up on the hilltop at the Church of the Nativity. As one is want to do on such occasions, I find myself ruminating about the past and fondly remembering the challenges and the joys. I came across this article in the New York Times titled "writing alone, together". Seven whole days, not one in seven, I will praise thee;. In my heart, though not in heaven, I can raise thee. I am part of this!

RevRows! The musings of a priest and rower: my patron saint - Catherine of Siena
http://revrows2.blogspot.com/2014/04/my-patron-saint-catherine-of-siena.html
Tuesday, April 29, 2014. My patron saint - Catherine of Siena. I remember being asked very early in my ordination process who I considered my patron saints. This very low church Protestant girl did not have an answer! Since then, I have gained several, but none more important than Catherine of Siena, whose feast day is celebrated today, April 29. She was both a mystic and an intensely practical woman. She spoke truth to the powers and also dedicated herself to the renewal of the church. I am part of this!
