Life, yoga and other adventures: December 2014
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Monday, 22 December 2014. The papers and the internet are awash at the moment with words of wisdom on why Christmas is so awful: the queues, the excess, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and new kid on the block Panic Saturday. Just as much has been written about why Christmas is brilliant: the giving and receiving of gifts, the socialising and the spiritual aspects. Oh, and for Quality Street. Tuesday, 16 December 2014. The joy of shared space. I think I...

Life, yoga and other adventures: January 2015
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Tuesday, 27 January 2015. I went out last night to see Cahalen Morrison and Eli Wes. T They popped in to town to do a house concert on their way to the Celtic Connections festival (listen out for them on Mark Radcliffe's Radio 2 show). They were fabulous, but I'm not usually out on a Monday evening so (a) I did NOT want to get up this morning and (b) I had to watch Broadchurch. Friday, 23 January 2015. Just a quick celebration today. And then post ...

Life, yoga and other adventures: Celebrating some small things
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2015/07/celebrating-some-small-things.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Friday, 24 July 2015. Celebrating some small things. It's been three weeks since I posted a CTST and then it was very hot. Today I went to town in my boots, because it's chucked it down with rain all day and the temperature has dropped accordingly. Mind you, the rain is my first cause for celebration, because my poor allotment is starting to look a bit droopy. Other things worthy of note today are:. My sensible mother (she knows why). Smashwords ta...

Life, yoga and other adventures: September 2014
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Monday, 29 September 2014. I'm a fool to myself. Most Saturdays, I treat myself to the Daily Telegraph. I buy it for its prize general knowledge crossword, and my mum and I will exchange texts relating to African capitals and the moons of Saturn until we have both finished the puzzle. So far neither of us has secured the £200 prize - and between us we must have spent more than that on stamps, but that's not the point. Friday, 5 September 2014.

Life, yoga and other adventures: Anything small to celebrate today?
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2015/08/anything-small-to-celebrate-today.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Friday, 7 August 2015. Anything small to celebrate today? Well, no, not really. I've had another challenging week (Thanks, Parcelforce) and it's all been a bit glum. It's not as though anything bad has happened and I know that compared to many I lead a charmed life. I'm not waiting for my chance to walk through the Channel tunnel, for instance. I'll dig deep and see what I can come up with:. There's plenty of food coming home from the allotment.

Life, yoga and other adventures: Have you got that Friday feeling?
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2015/08/have-you-got-that-friday-feeling.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Friday, 14 August 2015. Have you got that Friday feeling? Another week has gone past without my having found the time to post anything between CTST contributions: sorry. I am surrounded by people with lots of good things to celebrate: exam results for some, new ventures for others, and I wish them well. My own celebrations are, as usual, more modest:. I have finished a commissioned article ahead of time. Celebrate the Small Things. Hope its going w...

Life, yoga and other adventures: May 2015
http://juliathorley.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Life, yoga and other adventures. A writer's life for me. Sunday, 31 May 2015. I was delighted when the postman delivered an unexpected package yesterday from those lovely people at grow2eat.com. Meanwhile, my stock of tomato plants is diminishing, but there are still some going begging. My friends have been pestered to take the surplus off my hands and I've delivered some this morning to a lovely lady who swapped some of my plants for a jar of her home-dried chillies. Husband will be delighted. Join in t...
