Χριστός παραμένει. (Christ remains.). Saturday, April 14, 2007. A King and a Kingdom. Wind and waves. Force and motion. Roots and trees. Creator and creation. One cannot exist without the first. It gives meaning, substance, depth, even sustenance to the other. So many days, I focus on one half of that equation. I forget. And busy myself with things that kill my spirit. I forget. If there is a Kingdom, then there must be a King. The Kingdom implies the King. And yet we take it so lightly. I can scarcely e...

Χριστός παραμένει. (Christ remains.). Thursday, July 20, 2006. Thoughts on parting ways. Now it's time for moving on. Race the sun to the horizon. Watch the new day come alive. Because it's time for moving on. Life is full of bittersweet moments. Bidding farewell is such sweet sorrow. To my Nashville friends, thank you for all you have invested into me and challenged me to learn. I have a feeling I will be back with you sooner than later, but for now, I must say goodbye. It was hot, and the sun was relentlessly shining. Maggie Beth insisted on playing outside and I reluctantly agreed. As we stepped out, I felt his eyes on me. I was afraid to look up, but I glanced every now and then. His eyes beat down on me harder than the mid-day sun. Posted by Rachel at 11:45 PM. Monday, June 19, 2006.

Χριστός παραμένει. (Christ remains.). Friday, March 09, 2007. Something I wrote* last semester and finished tonight. It all comes down to numbers. A life in the balance. Sustained by the hands of man. What number must approach. Before we can decide. Is it about what he can take. Or we ourselves can bear? Could we ever be convinced. That a number will suffice. As reason enough to let him go. Something happens deep inside. That makes us now believe. Time is more than numbers. It’s defined us all along.

It happened just outside my window, long after night had fallen on the lands of Oklahoma.

Χριστός παραμένει. (Christ remains.). Saturday, January 20, 2007. The news was numbing. The tears came so quickly that she couldn't fight them this time. An embrace did little to stem the tide.but she didn't turn it away. Her mind raced with questions. Fear threatened to overwhelm her. A weight began to settle in her chest. She felt Him near to her, whispering against the current of thoughts. It was enough for her to just keep breathing. The family seemed to shuffle through mundane motions. She fell asle...
