The RIACAP CO2 project establishes the bases for the development of a new initiative which include an environmental risk assessment associated to the acidification risk in marine sediments due to CO2 leakages from marine stable geological formation, using an integrated methodology. The model of risk assessment to be applied has to take into account the environmental risks that can be caused in the environment and in the human health due to leakages of CO2 during the injection or during its storage.
