South Jersey Deer Hunt. Best Times to Hunt. Oct 29, 2011. Bow season started off this year extremely slow. Everyone had good activity on the trail cameras, but warm weather and an abundance of acorns made seeing and patterning the bucks difficult. This deer had fairly decent heft to him and I would estimate he weighed in the 120 to 130 pound range. Roy killed his buck with a. Crossbow and Vortex 125 grain. South Jersey Deer Hunt. Best Times to Hunt. Nov 7, 2013. Extended Bow kicked off in 2012 with substantial rut activity. The day before, the last day of regular bow season, I had an encounter with 2 shooter bucks chasing a hot doe all around me in the woods for over an hour. I was able to get a pretty good look at both deer but neither provided me with a shot. Here is a pic of where i found him. This buck dressed out at 140 lbs. Drew's deer dressed in at 190 lbs. This deer also weighed in at 140 lbs.

South Jersey Deer Hunt. Best Times to Hunt. Sep 23, 2011. The early season started off this year with warm temperatures and wet humid conditions. making it a chore for NJ hunters to take to the woods to fill their first tags. After the first morning hunt on September 10th there was a mad rush at every local retail store of hunters trying to buy a thermocell. Steve got it done using a Horton. And 100 grain Swhacker. Doe on Saturday morning and getting rained out that evening Matt found himself in his most productive stand location Sunday afternoon hunting over a food plot that he closely manages throughout the summer. His target buck arrived on the scene and Matt executed a text book shot with his Mathews bow equipped with Rage Titanium. Matt had his deer on the ground by 6:00 on the second day.
