Richard Tooke: Noise
http://richardtooke.blogspot.com/2014/07/noise.html
Thursday, July 10, 2014. Mass email marketing is dead. I'm not sure where the tipping point was, but, the collective audience has given up! Unless the email is personalized (and by that, I mean more than the person's name), they get ignored. We all have too many emails that arrive in our inbox daily. Speaking of noise, have you noticed the TVs that play you commercials for the 2-3 minutes you're captive at the pump? Or the 5 to 20 second ads that now pop up before almost every YouTube video? Richard love...

Richard Tooke: Illuminate the Alignment!
http://richardtooke.blogspot.com/2012/08/illuminate-alignment.html
Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Here's a terrific example of information visualization making the world a better place (and thus encouraging me to mumble on even further about its merits). In the past, if your car's wheels seemed to pull you one way or the other, or the edges of your tires began to bald, you suspected that your wheels were out of alignment. The natural thing to do was to run on down to the shop and have them aligned. The use of green/red to prominently display summary information (whether or...

Richard Tooke: Aha!
http://richardtooke.blogspot.com/2014/04/aha.html
Monday, April 7, 2014. We just adopted a new system called Aha! To track our product portfolio, and it's fantastic. When we were developing here in the US, we looked at a ton of agile project management/development tracking tools, but with our Egypt-based development team, these tools were less accessible than the Team Foundation Server system they are currently using. It was a struggle to keep up to date on the progress of stories in a consistent way. Posted by Richard Tooke.

Richard Tooke: Visions of the Future
http://richardtooke.blogspot.com/2012/11/visions-of-future.html
Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Visions of the Future. Here are some great videos about the near future:. Microsoft's View of 2019. Corning's Day Made of Glass. Corning's Day Made of Glass 2. Apple's Knowledge Navigator from 1987. This is a cute view by comparison to the ones above, but very interesting given that it was conceived and created in 1987, 25 years ago! The following are some examples of my work that highlight their function, process, and end-user value. Diagnosoft - Clinical Cardiac MRI Brochure. Click here to view the booklet.
