From Kenya to Cairo. Thursday, January 01, 2009. New Year's Eve Weenie-Roast. There's no better to celebrate New Year's Eve than with a weenie-roast, right? Especially if you made the grill yourself? You've never done that before? Well, Richard and Derek made the grill you see here from an old water heater. And, the first chance we had to test it was New Year's Eve. OK.real meat may have been grilled, but we also had veggie kabobs! These boys are such posers! Once more, Caleb and Kyle being silly.

From Kenya to Cairo. Sunday, November 30, 2008. The ASB (like Student Association) hosted a Christmas party the Sunday before Dead Week. We played games and ate injera and fries. Yes.what a combination! But, that's what the students wanted. Here's Richard enthusiastically serving. In case you're wondering, the bottles that you see there are Alvaro. It's a non-alcoholic malt drink that the kids like. Check out the previous posts from Habeshas, our favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Nairobi. This is the spot...

From Kenya to Cairo. Friday, July 14, 2006. Por que Un Poquito. I've been inspired to join by a very shy friend who has put herself out there in the blogging world. I figure if she can do it, so can I, especially since shy is not a word many would use to describe me. I've titled my blog. Well, I guess it's because I'm hoping to resuscitate the little bit of. That is left in me. I've been noticiing lately that I'm beginning to lose it, and that's scary. I tried to carry on a conversation with. Either....

Friday, February 23, 2007. Finally, Brethren, and this time I mean brethREn. I have made a very important typo. Brethern. I will move my posting from this blog to the new one here. Hopefully now Google should be able to understand my site name a little better. ;). Links to this post. Is there anything left we can trust? This is a post in progress, as most of mine are. This post will talk about ways in which we can show the Bible to be true. When someone follows Christ. The problem with proving the Bible ...

Finally, brethern...: Philippians 4:11 - to be content
http://finallybrethern.blogspot.com/2007/02/philippians-411-to-be-content.html
Thursday, February 22, 2007. Philippians 4:11 - to be content. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. Philippians 4:11. My eyes focused this morning on the words "therewith to be content." What does it mean to be content? Are we who live in this western culture ever content? It reminds me of Isaiah chapter 55, the second verse:. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labour for that which satisfieth not? What ...

I will consider the answer to that today and will post again tomorrow morning. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Finally, Brethren, and this time I mean brethREn. Eureka, MT, United States.

Finally, brethern...: Why I don't listen to Hip Hop...Rag music
http://finallybrethern.blogspot.com/2007/02/why-i-dont-listen-to-hip-hoprag-music.html
Monday, February 19, 2007. Why I don't listen to Hip Hop.Rag music. Full title: Why I don't listen to Hip Hop, Rap, Rock, Blues, Jazz, or Rag music. This is only meant to be a summary not a complete reference. It is the larger principles behind my decision not the actual way in which those principles apply to the music. I have limited myself to three principles that I believe apply here. Each is based on a Bible verse. They are:. 2 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8. Remem...

From Kenya to Cairo: September 2008
http://hadassahdoss.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
From Kenya to Cairo. Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Occasionally, after Friday night vespers, we invite our faculty family over. Every family "adopts" a group of students and they become your faculty family. The kids love it! Here's one of our "kids" being a poser! Now, Richard being a goof-ball! The kids love him! Some of the students from other faculty families came to our house after they left their "home-away-from-the-dorm". We must of had twenty kids over! Sunday, September 28, 2008. We've been workin...
