In April 2014, I will be riding a bicycle from Pacific Beach, CA to Atlantic Beach, FL to promote children cancer research awareness and raise funds for. St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospitals. Two wheels. One Cause. No Excuse. I have chosen a 2010 Pinarello FP2 Carbon for this ride. I purchased the bike used off eBay for $1,100. Requirements in a bike for a 2,500-mile ride were simple; neutral geometry carbon frame, Ultegra components, and 53×11 gearing w/ 175mm cranks. I wanted a decent, affordable bike with moderate performance, yet something that I wouldn’t mind dropping a few times. Which is Pinarello’s in-house brand.
