Starch Green: April 2013
http://blog.starchgreen.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 April 2013. The rich tapestry of life. There are moments when you just feel that being in London is the best place in the world. And it doesn't have to be all perfect - it's the richness of the experiences that add colour and edge to life. Friday evening was a delight. Jonathan and I went to an evening at the V and A. Entitled, " David Bowie. Changed my life," a conversation between Robert Elms. Guided by the gentle questioning of Krissi Murison, ex-Editor of the NME. Enjoying the delights of ...

Starch Green: November 2012
http://blog.starchgreen.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Friday, 23 November 2012. A Book for Christmas. Whilst the whole world is going digital the beauty, smell, texture and sheer bookiness of books still have a role - and a place close to my heart. Books about art and illustrators are particularly appropriate for remaining in a paper-based format. I was delighted to receive a copy of Angie Lewin's Plants and Places. In Holt. From then on we found out more about Angie and St Judes. Angie's book is organised by places she finds inspiration like Coast, Woodlan...

Starch Green: May 2012

Monday, 28 May 2012. Popping up at Hay-on-Wye very soon. The Starch Green Kindness Jug appearing at Hay-on-Wye - a literary jug for a literary festival. Alongside the Hay Festival. Hay-on-Wye itself blossoms into a cultural hub of food fairs, pop-up shops, galleries and of course bookshops. Always a delight to visit, the festival adds a burst of energy to the town. This year we have banded together with Wood at Golden Valley. The 'secret' gap in the wall to the cobbled courtyard. And inside a cool, moder...

Starch Green: March 2013
http://blog.starchgreen.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, 7 March 2013. Look at our Look Book. We've had great fun putting together a Look Book for Starch Green. We wanted to create something that has more of an atmosphere than a portfolio, but that captures the range of work we enjoy and a sense what we love doing. The book has chapters themed by colour and a 'directory' in the back that gives a reasonably comprehensive range of products and examples of our design and illustration. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). FOLLOW US ON TWITTER. We also take commis...

Starch Green: June 2012
http://blog.starchgreen.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 12 June 2012. Tinsmiths - we don't do useless. On our way to Hay-on-Wye last Friday we stopped off in Ledbury to visit the marvellous Tinsmiths. Tinsmiths is a shop that is a gorgeous melange of fabrics, housewares and artists prints with a slight smattering of stationery. As they say, "we try to stock beautiful and timeless things and we are very keen on things that function well; we don't do useless.". We had a lovely chat with proprietor Phoebe Clive, and as we mutually admired the St Judes.

Thursday, 29 August 2013. South Coast Road Trip. Our first stop was at Much Ado. And enchanting burrow of a place run by the most welcoming Cate and Nash Robbins. Much Ado Books inAlfriston. On arrival they announced that they had not received the food for lunch they had planned so proposed to take us out for a countryside experience with pheasants and peacocks. We piled into the Volvo and arrived, after a bumpy drive along a dusty track, at the Beanstalk Tea Garden. Sun shade at the Beanstalk Tea Garden.

Starch Green: Sneak preview behind the scenes for Artists at Home
http://blog.starchgreen.com/2013/06/sneak-preview-behind-scenes-for-artists.html
Monday, 10 June 2013. Sneak preview behind the scenes for Artists at Home. Jonathan's shed with intriguing new prints drying. As we sipped chilled Prosecco on Askew Road this Saturday afternoon we raised a glass to the 'Askew Road Season'. Having lived on or very near Askew Road for the last 28 years or so it's heartening to experience a feeling of community and optimism on our local 'high street'. Our Edible Askew Tree outside Long Live Vintage. And Long Live Vintage. Since then Leiths Cookery School.
