An american girl gone british. Tag Archives: kensington palace. February 10, 2014. It’s been a month. More than a month! By all normal standards of living, things have actually been pretty unexceptional. Except that I’m in London, and every little unexceptional thing I do carries a joy in it like no other. When my mom dropped me off at the airport, I told her while holding back mini-tears, that I felt like I was going to college again. What if I don’t make friends? What if people don’t like me? An american girl gone british. May 28, 2014. When I was 11, Maya Angelou addressed America at the 1993 inauguration of President Bill Clinton with “ On the Pulse of the Morning. 8221; In function, she spoke to America but in her stature, her words, and in the emotions of all who heard, she addressed mankind. A few years later, a teacher chose “ I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. 8220;Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.” – Maya Angelou, May 23, 2014. Rest peacefully, Maya.

An american girl gone british. January 7, 2014. I can’t believe it. After 10 months of time zone purgatory, several international trips including 4 months living in the U.K. and Paris, respectively, I am FINALLY moving to London in 4 hours. Um … is it too late to change my mind? Despite this, I am happy. No–ecstatic. How blessed am I to be embarking on this incredible experience! To the United Kingdom. Here’s a little glimpse at what I’ll miss while I’m away. My sissy, a.k.a. my attorney.
