Watauga County Farmers' Market. Horn in the West parking lot. Saturdays, May – October, 7am till noon. Blowing Rock Farmers' Market. Blowing Rock, NC. Thursdays, May – October, 4 - 6 pm. Downtown Hickory Farmers' Market. Near Union Square in Hickory, NC. Wednesdays, May – October, 10am to 3:00 pm. Ericks Cheese and Wine.

Click to enlarge and explore gallery. Breeding is seasonal, occuring in September and October with American Saanen bucks kept here on the farm. Kidding takes place in February and March, and kids are raised on their dams for eight weeks. In April and May, we weaned kids and began using the milk for cheesemaking in a season which continued through November.

During the milking season, our milk was hand-carried from the milking parlor to the cheese room as the goats were milked mornings and nights. Milk for cheesemaking was entirely free of antibiotics and added hormones.
