Thoughts and observations from life around the riverrim. .including spinning weaving, knitting, gardening, flax, chickens, rabbits, alpaca. and whatever wild life wanders by. Thursday, February 19, 2015. A winter weavers window. From my vantage point, I see the slope of the snow covered road. If I look through the trees, I can see the river winding its way through the valley. My inspiration comes from these towels (shown above), work of my Grandmother's and Great Grandmother's. Thoughts and observations from life around the riverrim. .including spinning weaving, knitting, gardening, flax, chickens, rabbits, alpaca. and whatever wild life wanders by. Thursday, October 30, 2003. To kraut or not to kraut. Thanks to the generosity of my good neighbor and friend and gardener extrodinaire, I found myself with a counter full of fresh picked cabbages! There were potatoes to go with it too! Now I had a dilemma.do I or do I not turn them into sauerkraut? Thursday, October 30, 2003. It wa...

Thoughts and observations from life around the riverrim. .including spinning weaving, knitting, gardening, flax, chickens, rabbits, alpaca. and whatever wild life wanders by. Monday, January 26, 2004. I finished and popped off the first square of my new 12" loom. I have decided that I prefer the tri-loom over the square. The square does have some advantages, however, I enjoy working with the tri more than the square. I let one of my friends borrow my small tri, and I think she is hooked! Trying to figure...

Thoughts and observations from life around the riverrim. .including spinning weaving, knitting, gardening, flax, chickens, rabbits, alpaca. and whatever wild life wanders by. Sunday, October 26, 2014. The first frost has yet to arrive. The last of the summer sun is savored. Short walks and long shadows. Ghost bugs are there, and then not. Green peppers change to orange. And beans to seed. Potatoes are dug and moved from one underground storage to another. The rafter of turkeys grow larger by the days.

Since my last post not a lot has happened. I've done a little spinning and some knitting and some sewing, but not a lot of any of those things as I've been under the weather. I'm also being sent in for an iron test though due to the other issues PM is causing for me which I don't need to go into here. This will be a Pixelated. I had pla...

I'm a crafty Mummy and Wife. I bring up my 2 boys, spin, knit and sometimes sew. Follow this blog with bloglovin. Sunday, March 22, 2015. I had planned on working on the dress this week, but got detoured by a need for long johns. Merino for Thomas and George. The pricing for these came in under $20 each, no way I'd find merino long johns for that price in the shop. Wool is necessary as they're going through Cave Stream where they'll get cold and wet (assuming the weather allows). Saturday, March 14, 2015.
