By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Saturday, 8 August 2015. Update, well sort of. Sorry for the lack of posts, but I have either had no internet access, or no spare time. Now that I have internet access and spare time, I have just realised that my laptop that I bought with me does not have a built in SD card reader and that the camera I have been using does not have a standard mini or micro USB port, instead some other proprietary port to connect to the computer to which I don't have a cable.

By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Friday, 14 August 2015. The Aurora Hotel that I stayed in at Deadhorse was fantastic, far better than Coldfoot Camp and much more reasonably priced too. After a good breakfast I packed up my things ready to face the challenge of the Dalton Highway once more. After yesterdays tough ride I was a bit apprehensive, especially as it seemed to have rained all night and was still raining in the morning. 20 August 2015 at 10:40. 23 August 2015 at 22:53.

By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Sunday, 9 August 2015. I awoke to the sound of rain on my tent at the Harley campground. Not what I wanted to hear. We packed up our tents and planned the route for that day going north towards Fairbanks but planned to divert off to see the Matanuska Glacier. 18 August 2015 at 16:01. Loving the pictures Graham. By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Wednesday, 5 August 2015. Well today is the day where I fly off to Anchorage in Alaska to start my trip. However, by the time I land there will not be enough time to try and get my bike out of customs so this will have to wait another day. The first flight was delayed by 50 minutes but the next one was on time so it just meant less of a stop over. 7 August 2015 at 04:13. Good luck with the start of the trek. By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Monday, 10 August 2015. So after staying the night at Dry Creek campground, I again woke to the sound of rain. The ride back to Fairbanks was a very wet and cold ride but eventually we got to Leo's house where he very kindly said I could stay until I was ready to head further north. By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Monday, 31 August 2015. The next morning I woke early with the sound of some other campers getting ready to leave the campground. However, I was in no such rush and just stayed in my sleeping bag for as long as possible as it was raining and I only had a couple of kilometres to go now that the road was open again. A view of Dease Lake in the crap morning weather. Sunday, 30 August 2015. The blue sky was often behind me! Love it when I see a sign like this.

By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Friday, 7 August 2015. Frenchy gave me a lift to the airport where I was going to get my bike out of customs. I must admit, with pressures of getting the bike ready, my work and a very sick uncle, this was the first time in several months that I was feeling excited about my trip. By heck, it's going to be a long ride on my own! Thursday, 13 August 2015. The day started of very damp with mist and low clouds, so I wasn't expecting to see such good views. For the first 35 miles or so the road surface was paved and in excellent condition, then it changed to a gravel road only this time it was rougher than the gravel roads going up to Coldfoot. As the ride progressed it got wetter making the riding more tricky, especially in the road works areas. The R80ST looking dirty.

Today I leave the comfort and wonderful hospitality of Frenchy's B&B and head out on my bike to find a camp ground! The ride south was great, good weather and great views.
