The Roast Inspector: September 2011

http://roastinspector.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Saturday, 17 September 2011. The Whiffler (Wetherspoons) - Norwich. Wanna eat roast dinner everyday? Plenty of condiments and sauces are available in satchets. Great presentation and extra gravy but. Upon closer inspection I soon realised it was all a bit overcooked and dry. The person taking my order and chap bringing the food over where both friendly and efficient. 7/10. Half a roast chicken, 5 roast potatoes, 1 yorkshire pudding, carrots, broccoli and gravy. 6/10. The roast chicken tasted ok but was w...

The Roast Inspector: August 2012

http://roastinspector.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Sunday, 5 August 2012. The Wig and Pen - Norwich. 6 St Martin's Palace Plain. Sunday roast served between 12.00pm and 4.00pm. The Wig and Pen can be found a few minutes walk away from Tombland on St Martin's Palace Plain. There is a large outside seating area. Large parasols will keep the sun out of your eyes whilst eating. Inside is very traditional. Quite expensive but worth it as the food here is great. I am going to have to try the breakfast soon, sounds great! The veg was tasty but a bit undercooked.

The Roast Inspector: February 2012

http://roastinspector.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, 5 February 2012. The Street Cafe - Norwich. The Street Cafe is one of my favourite places in Norwich to go for a fry up, read more about that here. The Cafe is fully licenced so if you fancy wine with your meal it is not a problem. Inside it is traditional and welcoming, a great place to be. Specials can be found on the blackboard and. Fresh flowers can be found on each table. The mint sauce portion was small but more was bought along upon request. 163;695 for the standard roast. I was delighted ...

The Roast Inspector: Time to look at the roast dinner.

http://roastinspector.blogspot.com/2011/07/time-to-look-at-roast-dinner.html

Tuesday, 26 July 2011. Time to look at the roast dinner. So why the roast dinner? For over a year now I have been busy searching for the perfect fry up experience. Well the layout will be similar to the fry up inspector format but with a few additions and the categories will be. What is the place like inside? Was there a decent car park? Was the menu easy to find? Did you get a table straight away? Was awful pan pipe music being played in the background? How well did the staff do at taking your order?

Tuesday, 20 December 2011. Bristol Bar - Madrid, Spain. Calle Almirante, 20. Full English Breakfast served Saturday only. Between 11.30am - 3.00pm. Trying to find a Full English in Madrid is no easy task, luckily I had read about Bristol Bar whilst planning the trip. An up-market slice of the UK in central Madrid. The plush seating area continues towards the rear. It is also famous for it's vast selection of Gin's on offer. Breakfast didn't come cheap but. A great selection of sauces are on offer. The sa...

Tuesday, 20 July 2010. Bond Street Cafe - Norwich (with update). Limited parking spaces outside. The cafe is on the corner of Bond Street and Bowthorpe Road. There are plenty of menus inside to help you choose. There are 3 fry-ups on offer and they are great value for money. Fried breakfast themed artwork adorns the walls. Condiments are nestled neatly on the table waiting patiently to be used. The bumper breakfast was huge and it included toast and marmalade and a mug of tea or coffee. You are greeted b...

http://fryupsgoodornot.blogspot.com/2010/04/aarandale-regent-b-northampton.html

Monday, 26 April 2010. Aarandale Regent B&B - Northampton. A really friendly B&B in Northampton that is 5 mins from the city centre. The staff are great, it is clean, there is parking at the rear of the building and they put effort into making breakfast. The tables are set up with cutlery, cups, plates, condiments, butter and a selection of jams. There is a menu on each table clearly explaining what is available. 9/10. Apple or orange juice. Sunday, 16 May 2010. Britvic staff canteen - Norwich. Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd. Only if you are using the training facilities). Although not a public cafe you can eat there as a visitor if you are using the Abbey Conference Centre next door. The Fry up Inspector: The Airways Diner - Norwich

http://fryupsgoodornot.blogspot.com/2011/05/airways-diner-norwich.html

Sunday, 15 May 2011. The Airways Diner - Norwich. 1a Spitfire Road,. Norwich Airport industrial estate,. Parking available at rear of cafe. The Airways Diner can be found close to Norwich Airport on Spitfire Road. It can seat a fair few people and was quite busy when I was there. 75p seemed a fair price for a mug of tea, not when it is barely warm though. I had to hunt for the salt who had gone to visit another table. The low point was those mega economy sausages. The fried bread was really good though!

The Fry up Inspector: Byfords of Holt

http://fryupsgoodornot.blogspot.com/2011/07/byfords-of-holt.html

Sunday, 3 July 2011. Breakfast served 7 days a week 8am - noon. Holt is a lovely market town, Byfords can be found on Shirehall Plain in the town centre. Inside is spotlessly clean and traditional. There are a good number of tables outside too. Just find a table and wait to be served. Somewhere that will please vegetarians too. Standards here are high but that is reflected in the price. The price does include a nice hot drink though. So are a selection of really nice homemade jams. It looked like a work ...

The Fry up Inspector: Baguettes Plus - Norwich

Friday, 15 October 2010. Baguettes Plus - Norwich. 66 Prince of Wales Road. Limited metered parking available on Prince of Wales Road. I must admit I had never noticed it before and only usually end up on Prince of Wales road after dark, probably too drunk after leaving Hades bar at silly o' clock to notice such things! Clean and spacious inside. Everything you need huddled together neatly. Tea was £1.60 for a pot, I wish I had left that tea bag in a bit longer though. The well spoken chap who took my or...

The Fry up Inspector: Bridge Cafe - West Acton

http://fryupsgoodornot.blogspot.com/2011/05/bridge-cafe-west-acton.html

Sunday, 22 May 2011. Bridge Cafe - West Acton. Read about the cafe here. Get the central line tube to West Acton, it takes about half an hour from central London. It won't be winning any prizes for looks and inside it feels a bit like a police prison cell but I didn't care, this is the cafe where the losers from The Apprentice. End up to discuss where it all went wrong! The small counter is where you place your order, while you wait for your food to arrive you can ponder over a mug of tea. Although cooke...

There is free parking for 2 hours on Trinity Street. There is a nice paved garden out the back with a few tables and a nice selection of fish in the pond. I assume the raisins on the tables outside were for the birds but I guess you could try one. I had the all day breakfast - 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs, fried bread, mus...

Behind those large black doors is a hive of activity and some delicious things are being cooked up. People clearly love spending time chatting and eating at Bill's, the place has a real buzz and a great atmosphere.
