Once the hatch has been cut you have to live with it! Like the top of a jack o’lantern it has to remain the same shape to fit back in the hole. You can smooth a few things out but it basically needs to remain how you cut it! Once its done and has the gasket is in place the hatch cover on and it will form a nice seal with the hatch cover.
