Случилась забавная история. Райт остановил лошадь, чтобы посмотреть счетчик на своих санях. Китайцу это не понравилось, и он коротким галопцем побежал за другими лошадьми. Райт на своих длинных ногах едва успел догнать и остановить проказника. Но самое забавное тут, что Джию заразился игривостью товарища и неуклюже поскакал за ним. Приток теплого, влажного воздуха в это время года, вызывающий увеличение снежного покрова, представляет, несомненно, интересное метеорологическое явление. Суббота, 4 ноября. След последней машины пока еще указывает нам путь, но теперь я, конечно, каждую минуту жду, что наткнусь где-нибудь и на ее обломки. Пони работают недурно. Поверхность пути по большей части попадается рыхлая, невозможная, но грузы, конечно, легкие. Джию справляется со своим делом лучше, нежели я ожидал. Китаец же наоборот. Понедельник, 6 ноября. Лагерь 4. Моторная команда, по уговору, пошла вперед, везя грузы на себе. Лошади отлично справлялись с полными грузами. Даже Китаец и Джию бодро везли каждый свои 450 фунтов и столь же бодро завершили дневной переход. Аткинсон и Райт находят, что эти лошади поправляются.
