Rob and Maryanns Excellent Adventures. FLYING ABOVE THE CLOUDS. Monday, February 15, 2010. Beautiful day at Mammoth Mt. This isn't our plane but another plane that landed just after we did. Can you see the plane? It's a great place to snow ski for winter and awesome hiking in the summer. The town is about 8.5 miles from the airport. We met Scotty who owns Mammoth Taxi. He was very nice so if you fly into Mammoth, use his taxi service! Flying over the snow covered mountains was great!
