Let's Talk Robots: Build a Shadow Avoiding Robot
http://ignoblegnome.blogspot.com/2012/04/build-shadow-avoiding-robot.html
Let's Talk Robots Episodes. Saturday, April 28, 2012. Build a Shadow Avoiding Robot. You can build a simple robot that responds to a stimulus (the lack of light) by stopping one wheel and reversing the other. This simple maneuver may help the robot leave the shadow it entered and find the light. Once it does, it will drive forward again. Sometimes, the poor little robot will get caught in the shadows and will spin in circles until you rescue it. Posted by Andrew Terranova. October 19, 2014 at 5:21 PM.

Let's Talk Robots Episodes. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. The Undying Desire to Make. This past weekend, I had the wonderful experience of running four robot making workshops at Maker Faire NY. I've organized the Let's Make Robots. 160;presence at Maker Faire for the past two years. Last year, I was able to sit down with a small handful of kids and make a very simple robot. This year, I wanted to do a lot more. Thanks to the sponsorship of PICAXE. These kids did a great job. They sat and listened for a...

http://ignoblegnome.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Let's Talk Robots Episodes. Thursday, November 29, 2012. Resources for Young Makers. A friend of mine recently asked my advice. Apparently his twelve year old nephew is turning out to be "quite the geek". As my friend described his nephew's love to take stuff apart and make something new with it, I could tell we had the beginnings of a fine young maker. My friend turned to me for some suggestions for challenging kits that would not "do any damage to the house". So here is my list of. 1: Let's Make Robots.

Let's Talk Robots: About Me
http://ignoblegnome.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
Let's Talk Robots Episodes. I am a robotics hobbyist and an electrical engineer by education. My job has nothing to do with robotics or electronics, so I love tinkering with robots and learning new things. I got my start in robotics at Let's Make Robots. Frits was kind enough to have me as a guest for a number of episodes of The Latest in Hobby Robotics. A web-based show sponsored by MAKE. I've also appeared on an episode of MAKE: Live. With Becky Stern and Matt Richardson, who are really nice people.

Most of what I've learned about robotics, I've learned through the support of an online community called Let's Make Robots. While there is an abundance of information on the Internet and in books, LMR is where you can get the encouragement, advice, and inspiration that will get you someplace. Never built a robot before? The now famous start here robot. What You'll Find at LMR. The site is packed with projects, tips, blogs a...

Library and Example (1.0). This kit no longer includes the NunChuck breakout board. So how does it work? The camera can "see" up to 4 points of IR (or near IR) light. For each point, the camera outputs an X/Y position, size and brightness. The library does all the work for you and you are left with nice, simple numbers to work with in your code. Included in the kit:. All component parts needed for assembly. Required to complete the kit:. Soldering iron, solder and flux. Jan 5, 2012, 10:46 AM.

Random walks in my brain with a few attractors (robotics, science, programming…). A New Challenge for Robotics. Motion planning with OpenRave: an IPython notebook. Base pose planning with OpenRave. This is my first attempt at a tutorial using IPython notebooks. This is made all too complicated by the fact that I am using OpenRave. That launches an external process with th viewer. To create this post I used nbconvert. Or in general stochastic motion planning. Below is a video. Then load my code and select...
