Information Architecture, Design, and the Recycled Web. January 29, 2016. What’s on my mind? There’s a misconception that the practice of meditation involves clearing your mind of thoughts. There are amazing resources. To learn all about it, but in short: the aim is to remain aware of thoughts as they come and go like clouds and not grab on to one and get lost in a train of thought. May think a thing, but. Does not. If you have a blog, podcast, or just love to talk a lot, you might notice how the fur...

Information Architecture, Design, and the Recycled Web. November 12, 2013. Source: UX Myth #1: People read on the web. I love the UX Myths blog; both as a user and as a User Experience Designer. There are pithy observations about our common behaviors as we interact with the internet, and all of it is supported with research. I’d like to feature a visual version of each of these excellent “UX Myths” to help promote it. Less than 20% of the text content is actually read on an average web page. I’m do...

Information Architecture, Design, and the Recycled Web. December 14, 2015. A friend sent me this book with the note that it’s one of his favorites and still picks it up again once in a while. That last part is most impressive to me, since I never read anything twice there’s too many books in the world! I could immediately see why this one might be so re-readable. Here’s my favorite paragraph so far. The only context that you need is that there’s a bit of fog in Paris. March 25, 2015. Putting my observati...

I love making Spanish Tortilla (frittata) and this looks extra flavorful! Sadly, I won’t be able to share this joy via computers, but there’s the next best thing; pictures! Lemony Rainbow Chard Egg White Frittata. The greed of Men. January 7, 2014. What is their name? Mîm looked at him sidelong. ‘They ha...

Information Architecture, Design, and the Recycled Web. Redesigning the Map of the Web. February 7, 2014. Leverage what information representation can be. It may seem like old news to some, but I very recently got around to reading Frank Chimero’s treatise about the essence of a pixel medium in. And found myself musing about a potential Web that doesn’t conform to our assumptions of what. Of computers and the protocols to connect them. Ted Nelson, creator of hypertext. I think there’s a big opportunity f...

I felt that the podcast deserved a bit of an introduction and explanation. Also, while I’m waiting for some people to respond (and make the first episode), I’ll warm up my audio editing skills with this quick intro. Email: robrogan [at] gmail. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. A monthly podcast by Rob Brogan. So you’re probably here to send me a letter, that’s great! I set up this page to hopefully make things a bit easier. Skip to the submission form. What am I supposed to record? First of all, there’s no need to stress. The best letters I could ever ask for are the truly authentic ones nothing performative, scripted, or rehearsed. If scribbling a few notes to keep handy makes you feel at ease, that’s fine too. How do I record my “letter? Icon, which is a. Make sure the micro...

A monthly podcast by Rob Brogan. I refuse to spend more than a day coming up with podcast artwork! Also, it seems a bit odd that there’s no good place for the album art, so I’m going to share the final image here. Hopefully it will propagate out to the podcast syndication and so on. 2014 has been a year of global commutes, smart work and sacrifice in preparation for an exciting 2015. I have two low budget features currently in development for next year. Both scripts are driven by challenging characters, perfect for actors seeking that breakout role. My intention as Writer-Director is to excite audiences with a fresh take on universal stories, embellished with a provocative rawness they’ve never quite experienced before. 8211; Contained Comedy.
