Running into the Sun: Summer is Coming
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2013/05/summer-is-coming.html
Running into the Sun. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. The last time I posted, it was February and there was snow everywhere. Yesterday I arrived home shortly after a rainstorm had passed through town and my house was so full of moisture all the mirrors were fogged up. There was condensation on the glass of all my framed geologic maps. The floor and walls were damp. It was disgusting. I slammed all the windows shut and turned on the AC and let it run without stopping for over an hour. Of course, what did I do?

See Kevin Run: November 2010
http://seekevinrun.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Bills' Bad Ass Race Report - 13 Year Old Kid Runs 50k Ultramarathon. Well my title will give away the surprise, but I will still tell the story from the start. Saturday was Bills' Bad Ass 50k. Why the name? Well historically, runners (and especially ultrarunners) have put on low key, unsupported runs called Fat Ass. Runs Well this run was low key but instead of unsupported, it had terrific support, including a well-stocked aid station and a finisher's shirt! The 5-mile loop ...

Running into the Sun: Starting out with a bang!
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2011/08/starting-out-with-bang.html
Running into the Sun. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Starting out with a bang! This morning I did something I have not done for three months:. I got up at 6:00 and went running. I didn't run very far—maybe a mile total—and I took walk breaks every quarter of a mile. I didn't run very fast—even though I didn't wear Garmy, if I was going faster than 11:00/M I would be surprised. I ran I went running. I RAN. I have a looooooong. Forget my running today—my ugly black toenail is gone! Labels: aches and pains.

Running into the Sun: Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Half Marathon
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2007/10/detroit-free-pressflagstar-half.html
Running into the Sun. Monday, October 22, 2007. Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Half Marathon. Yesterday, October 21, was the Detroit Half Marathon. For four months every running step I took and weight I lifted and bead of sweat that ran into my eyes was meant to prepare me for this race, the biggest and longest of my life thus far. There was nothing more I could do; the moment was upon me. Was that really necessary? Bad, bad idea! Was this going to be over. I was here, like, two hours ago! I made the turn s...

Running into the Sun: The Ultimate Beer Post
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-ultimate-beer-post.html
Running into the Sun. Monday, February 4, 2013. The Ultimate Beer Post. Longtime readers of el bloggo know that I am a craft beer enthusiast. Heck, one of my post labels is "I run so I can drink beer." My Facebook friends know most of my pictures fall into two categories: beer and cats. This is the story of how I came to be a partner in a microbrewery. YES YES YES YES YES YES. I ran up to him and enthusiastically yelled, "YES! I was perhaps a bit too. I went to my first potential investors' meeting in Oc...

Running into the Sun: Early Morning Thought Process
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2013/01/early-morning-thought-process.html
Running into the Sun. Thursday, January 10, 2013. Early Morning Thought Process. 6:00 AM: Alarm goes off. Groan I don't want to get up and run. Why am I so tired? I didn't feel like this yesterday. I'll lie here and listen to the local news segment. I really don't want to get up. I'm so cozy. I can't flake out on only the third run of my training schedule! What kind of runner am I? I'll pet Bouhaki. He's right here. Nice warm kitty. Why am I so damn tired? I was asleep before 11:30. 131: 1:43:01 (Wild Li...

Running into the Sun: Why Hello There, Age Group Win!
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2012/04/why-hello-there-age-group-win.html
Running into the Sun. Monday, April 30, 2012. Why Hello There, Age Group Win! The Redhead asked me last week if I would be interested in running a little 5K race not far from her home in Howell. I said, "sure! My race "strategy" was to run comfortably hard for the first mile, assess how I felt, and press on or modify from there. Well.my first mile was an 8:05. Yes, we were dressed like this on April 28. Where we enjoyed a couple of brews and some yummy food. It's the Holy Grail of race venues! Love your ...

Running into the Sun: Well, this explains a few things
http://runningintothesun.blogspot.com/2011/06/well-this-explains-few-things.html
Running into the Sun. Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Well, this explains a few things. Today I learned about something called the plantaris tendon. I never knew this little strip of tissue existed before 8:30 this morning. Now I know far too much about it. Lower leg of doom. See that thin blue strip? That's your plantaris tendon. Yours is probably fine. No wonder it hurt so much! I WAS RUNNING WITH A RUPTURED TENDON AND TORN MUSCLES. I'm in for a lot of elliptical, biking, rowing and strength training. Interes...
