Snowman Says: Snowshoe Season
http://sn0m8n.blogspot.com/2014/03/snowshoe-season.html
Saturday, March 22, 2014. January 19, Bradbury Squall. February 8, Maine State Snowshoe Championships. Maine State Snowshoe Championships Race start. February 16, Bradbury White Out. I wanted to make up for the easy and short course from the Bradbury Squall, and combined with the conditions, I really nailed. I still opted for the flatter East side, but I packed in the two biggest climbs I could find along with half of the dreaded O Trail. In short, this course is a keeper! Bradbury White Out start. Post-...

6 Months in Kuala Lumpur: December 2013
http://6mosinkl.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
6 Months in Kuala Lumpur. Friday, December 27, 2013. Kicking off the Party Season. December is a month full of birthdays at our house, both near and far. (Sending love and hugs to Uncle Gerry and Cousin Wendy! We let Heinz choose the restaurant and he decided on the very lovely River Market Cafe, east of the old city, on the Ping River. We enjoyed some delicious local dishes, thirst quenching juices and a beautiful view of the river. Nice shot, Conrad! After evening fell, the students put on their Annual...

6 Months in Kuala Lumpur: May 2014
http://6mosinkl.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
6 Months in Kuala Lumpur. Monday, May 26, 2014. Sukothai: a Visit to the Ruins. Back in April, the kids had 3 weeks off school for the Easter/Spring/New Year (Songkran) break. Heinz was away for much of it but while he was home we decided to get in the car and take a drive to spend a few days exploring more of the surrounding Thai sights. One location that has been tops on our list to visit is Sukothai, a UNESCO/World Heritage-listed Historical Park. Wat Mahathat" translates as "the temple of the great r...

6 Months in Kuala Lumpur: March 2013
http://6mosinkl.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
6 Months in Kuala Lumpur. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. A glimpse of the progress. Seriously, with help like this I'm not sure why I didn't get the whole house packed 3 days ago already? Although it does call to mind this little gem from one of our trips home from Kuala Lumpur:. Anybody recognize that baby? Where has the time gone? Perhaps this is the route I need to go to minimize the "help" I am getting along the way:. I just need to install the gate and I could get my to-do list knocked out in no time!

6 Months in Kuala Lumpur: July 2014
http://6mosinkl.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
6 Months in Kuala Lumpur. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Reflections on 5K: The 2014 Bali Ocean Swim. Heinz and I started discussing the swim last summer, fitting it into our family travel plans and I was getting more and more excited about it as the trip started to become a reality. From a training standpoint I have been feeling stronger these last 12 months than at any point in my past. I never knew I could lift such heavy things! And, I must admit, I had not been as diligent about sticking to the in-the-pool...

6 Months in Kuala Lumpur: March 2014
http://6mosinkl.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
6 Months in Kuala Lumpur. Saturday, March 8, 2014. The Hazards of Living in Paradise. Amid crazy reports of the never-ending winter in the States, cryoseismic activity in Upstate New York and Indiana, and record snowfalls across the midwest, I am finding myself wishing we could have at least one good, hard freeze before the end of this "winter". Not because I'm feeling particularly sentimental about having wanted a white Christmas, but in the hopes that we could rid the yard of. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

6 Months in Kuala Lumpur: June 2013
http://6mosinkl.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
6 Months in Kuala Lumpur. Thursday, June 20, 2013. Der Letzte Tag in der Schule. I cannot believe it is possible but I am now the proud parent of a first grader, ein Erstklässler. To celebrate the end of the school year, we had a Parents' breakfast at the school, Frühstück mit den Eltern. Conrad and Vivienne chat with their friends and teachers. Conrad will miss his best friend Andrew while we are in the States this summer but will resume good times with him when we return at the end of July. We had been...

Snowman Says: All Done
http://sn0m8n.blogspot.com/2012/06/all-done.html
Wednesday, June 20, 2012. That's all she wrote. Another injury means more time off, more rehab, more.more.more. I'm done. I don't have the mental energy for another stint of rehab. Running is supposed to be fun. It's not anymore. No more training. No more goal races. It's just not enjoyable this way. I'll probably run here and there. I'll still show up at the summer Bradbury races. I'll still direct the snowshoe series. And, with no more training. No more training posts. Maine Runner - Jamie. Miles To Go...

Going Down Swinging: May 2015
http://gdswinging.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
A real blog about nothing really. Saturday, May 30, 2015. I'm not very good at race reports. By the time I get around to it I'm on to something else. Fast forward a bit, after a solid winter( for me) and a bunch of solid 18-20 runs and a bunch of real solid up-tempo 14-16 milers, race day arrived and I was healthy. I figured I should be anywhere between 2:40 and 2:45. First mile. I was completely shocked at how easy it felt. I found three BAA guys, McGIll, Levy, and Lawrence. Krissy K took the photo.
