Marianist Adventures in Rome: November 2014
http://marianistadventures.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Marianist Adventures in Rome. Saturday, November 1, 2014. I have always liked All Saints Day. I'm not really sure why, but it's one of my favorites. Maybe it's because by November 1, autumn (my favorite season) is in full swing. Or here in Rome, when the celebration is not on a Saturday, we don't have school (boo for this year.) Or maybe I just like the Saints (which isn't a bad thing in itself! But, I always look forward to the day. So, what do we celebrate today? St Ali and friends. Bro Bob Jones, SM.

Marianist Adventures in Rome: October 2013
http://marianistadventures.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Marianist Adventures in Rome. Sunday, October 27, 2013. Today in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis celebrated mass for "The Day of the Family." Now, in all transparency, I did not go. I heard that they were expecting 150,000 people and I then heard that more than 200,000 actually attended. I'm still recovering from all the people during the Pope's election! However, thanks to the internet, we can all read his homily. The Holy Family at Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The front of the church at night. While ...

Marianist Adventures in Rome. Sunday, November 17, 2013. How many priests does it take to dress a bishop? How many priests does it take to dress a Bishop? Keep reading for the answer). It's funny how, in one weekend, many unrelated events can come together to you teach a lesson. Not really a picture of the talk, but it was near Santa Maria in Trastevere. So, here's where we were. Due: Saturday morning, we celebrated a festive mass and lunch here in our house for the culmination of a weeklong conference f...

You just have to do your own thing, no matter what anyone says. It's your life. Wednesday, January 14, 2015. To say 2015 is going to be a life changing year would be an understatement. Over New Years, our little mister crossed the 21 week mark and he is still doing fabulous! We had a check-up on the 5th and he is growing strong with a heart beat of 144. Keep going little buddy! It was slightly overwhelming but after we were finished, I could not have been more pleased with the process. We went to dinner ...

http://blainhiggins.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
You just have to do your own thing, no matter what anyone says. It's your life. Friday, December 19, 2014. My mom came down to Charlotte the weekend after Christmas and helped me decorate my house. Before Matt and I got married, my friends threw me a Christmas bridal shower. Best. Idea. Ever. I registered at Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn for all sorts of Christmas decorations and I could not have asked for anything more. The shower was perfect. Happy Holidays from the Atkins! http://blainhiggins.blogspot.com/2015/01/nursery-furniture.html
You just have to do your own thing, no matter what anyone says. It's your life. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. I am finding out really fast that it is SUPER easy to spend a TON of money on a nursery. If it's your first child, you really are starting from scratch.like me. The last necessity left for nursery furniture was a changing table. Everywhere you look online there are small changing tables like this:. To try and save a little $ $, I went to the only place that seemed reasonable.shop Craigslist. Matt wa...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. A little about me. Spoonful in the news. May 19, 2016. I was determined to walk my son into this new building with new faces and new ideasthat’s what mom’s do, right? Was he not transitioning well? Was there something I was missing? Shouldn’t he be outgrowing the clingy stage? And on and on the questions grew within my heart and mind. I think I skipped out of the building and then I cried. I have thought about the emotions associated with. What are litt...

Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. A little about me. Spoonful in the news. July 14, 2016. As rough as you are, you have a sensitive heart. You are the ethical watchdog of the family for catching us saying a bad word. I remember one day after a verrryyyy long day, your father and I were talking about something and I. In the car you constantly ask questions like how much is 1,379,441 plus 891 plus 62,300,101? Speaking of questions, you are so inquisitive about family history. Recently...

Marianist Adventures in Rome: June 2015
http://marianistadventures.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Marianist Adventures in Rome. Monday, June 22, 2015. Q: What do I have in common with Pope Francis? A: We both spent a day in Torino (that's Turin for you Americani) last week. After I finished my exams, I took a little adventure to northern Italy (more on that later), and on my way home I spent a night in Torino. Mainly, I went to see the Shroud of Turin, what some believe is the burial cloth of Jesus. I won't weigh in on its authenticity, but there were two things that made an impression on me. Sarcoph...
