November 12, 2012} #spartacus Disability WCA ESA etc. Lately though I find myself reading things that make me so angry about the state of our country. For the past while on Twitter I’ve been following some disability rights campaigners and my interest is this topic is growing. It initially came about when the comedian and activist Mark Thomas ( @ markthomasinfo. Linked up to a blog by his “bag lady” friend ( http:/ mybagladylife.blogspot.co.uk/. 8211; tell the bankers and the tax dodgers that! Lets skip ...

Winning '11: 1 - Patrick Wolf. Patrick Wolf - Lupercalia. Was meant to be Patrick Wolf's commercial breakthrough back in 2007. Major label, bright presentation, glittery songs in (clap, clap) the major key. It didn't really happen. He went away and made The Bachelor. In 2011, though, he was back on a major label again, and released a fifth album which finally saw his music more widely embraced and in the top 40 and on the radio (albeit the previously unlikely Radio 2! Not only that, but Lupercalia. Kisse...

Winning '11: 2 - Emmy the Great. Emmy the Great - Virtue. Is the end album of the pair and one which I'm very close to in probably unprecedented ways. I've exchanged more words with Emma-Lee Moss than any other musician (not that that's hard). I've seen her play more times than anyone else bar Elbow and Hard-Fi, and over a much shorter period of time than either. I've witnessed the songs on Virtue. Evolving before they were recorded and in fact, thanks to Pledgemusic. Was my favourite album of 2009.

A brief foodie interlude | Bewildergirl's Stuffblog
https://bewildergirl.wordpress.com/2011/07/31/a-brief-foodie-interlude
July 31, 2011} A brief foodie interlude. Last night (Saturday) I made a deliciously simple tea. In Scouse, “tea”. Is what southerners or poshers call “dinner”. Dinner is something we eat at dinnertime. At school we had dinnnerladies, not lunchladies. Ergo dinner is something eaten around midday, and tea is eaten at teatime. Let’s not get any deeper into this! Bewildergirl @ 8:08 pm [filed under Food. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). 30 day song challenge.

Adventures in the great outdoors | Bewildergirl's Stuffblog
https://bewildergirl.wordpress.com/2011/08/14/adventures-in-the-great-outdoors
August 14, 2011} Adventures in the great outdoors. Not really. Well back at the allotment after a short hiatus. Day Four never got posted as an event cause I was pissed off. In the interim the weather has confounded me often. Three pretty bad asthma attacks also put paid to much (note to self *put prescription in for inhalers stoooopid*), as has work. So I made an effort today and once the rain stopped I went down there. My observation for the day is that nettle stings were surely worse when we were kids?

Allotment Day One | Bewildergirl's Stuffblog
https://bewildergirl.wordpress.com/2011/07/25/allotment-day-one
July 25, 2011} Allotment Day One. Time and also had a couple of long periods where I had pretty severe health problems but life is back on track, PhD is nearing completion and I need some exercise. So…… A while back I applied to have an allotment thinking the wait would be horrendous and that my PhD would be over by the time I got one, but I was lucky enough to take the keys and complete the paperwork last Saturday. It’s a bit of a jungle, no? I’m quite happy with the progress for Day One. All My Own Worn.

July 28, 2011} Day Two. Oh look, I can see the pond now. The pond I have to fill in cause it’s in the naffest place possible. I found a frog under the white cabinet that has been dumped there. Froggy hopped away leaving me worried about where to stand in case I stepped on him. Didn’t fancy squished frog on my Tims. Clearing a path to the compost “area”. Again this is something that needs to be moved, and all that corrugated metal and scaffolding removed. Such fun. Bit more space revealed. All My Own Worn.

IDS and the £53 a week challenge | Bewildergirl's Stuffblog
https://bewildergirl.wordpress.com/2013/04/01/ids-and-the-53-a-week-challenge
April 1, 2013} IDS and the 53 a week challenge. I signed a petition today https:/ www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/iain-duncan-smith-iain-duncan-smith-to-live-on-53-a-week. That challenges IDS to live on 53 a week. I say live, but the reality is not living on that amount of money, it is surviving. Existing. The rationale for the petition is that IDS claimed he could live on benefits http:/ m.guardian.co.uk/politics/2013/apr/01/iain-duncan-smith-live-benefits. So let’s talk about the practicality of.
