Baby Boomer Grammy: August 2014
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 10, 2014. When we went out for Emmett's blessing in late March, the timing was perfect. We attended our first New York Rochester Mission reunion. It was such a joy to be with our dear President and Sister Christianson again, and so many of the missionaries we served with. Remington Peck (Elder Peck) is now married and is one of BYU's star football players. This is one of our Brockport "daughters", Sister Torres (Diana) who lived in the same apartment complex as we did. Another perk of our ...

Baby Boomer Grammy: Still catching up on 2014 events!
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2015/06/events-from-christmas-2014-to-may-2015.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Still catching up on 2014 events! Here are a few highlights from November. Lorelei and I enjoyed a few "dates" to the library for story time. After story time, Lorelei enjoyed working on puzzles and playing with the stuffed animals. Some times, we went out to eat after the library or worked on a craft in my office. In November, we gathered for our usual Thanksgiving family dinner, which included someone new this year, Cameron, who is now Jessica's fiancé. Our traditional Christmas ...

Baby Boomer Grammy: March 2015

Tuesday, March 17, 2015. September 2014 family visit. Carl's brother Billy, his wife Carol, and Carol's sister Elaine visited family in Houston for a few days. Carl and I had spent a wonderful Christmas at Elaine's home in Bainbridge, New York when we were on our mission. Since Billy and Carol live in Pennsylvania, it is a treat when they come to Houston. We just enjoy being together, going over memories, talking and laughing. We had a group movie date. I love being with my in-laws and love the ocean!

Baby Boomer Grammy: December 2014
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Summer fun in Houston. Before summer 2014 ended, Carl and I took a few of the school age grand-kids on a "date" to the children's theater production of "Mulan" in Hermann Park. Aunt Jessica joined us. After the show, we enjoyed a picnic lunch by the duck pond. Evan, entering kindergarten, was so excited since this was the first time he was able to join his older sisters as an official school kid for this annual "back to school" date. It was really hot out there,. Which pool wa...

Baby Boomer Grammy: September 2014
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 29, 2014. A few days after our Utah trip, we hit the high seas for a very relaxing 40th wedding anniversary cruise. We sailed in April, a week before Easter. Previously, we had taken two cruises with Royal Caribbean. This time we cruised with Princess, on a smaller ship. We weren't disappointed. The other retired couples we dined with each night were so great! We loved being with them, and felt like old friends at the end of the week. What a sweet husband I have! During the summer, Laur...

Baby Boomer Grammy: July 2014
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. On Saturday, March 29, sweet Avery Elizabeth, who turned eight earlier in the month, was baptized by her Daddy, Dan. Here's a row of Avery's pretty little cousins, who came to share in this special event. Ava, in the middle (between Laila and Dahlia) will be the next grandchild who will be baptized. We discovered what a happy little guy Emmett Andrew is. He was a week shy of turning 3 months old. Three generations of Ellis men! Especially the little one). Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

Baby Boomer Grammy: Cross Country -- again!
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2015/05/cross-country-again.html
Sunday, May 3, 2015. Cross Country - again! For many years, Carl and I have attended every single cross country meet for five of our children. When the last one graduated from high school, we breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that our days as cross country (and track) parents were over. This Fall we found ourselves back at the cross country meets, this time as cross country grandparents! It was fun to cheer on 9th grader Elayna, who is on the J.V. team, and the mighty Mustangs! Baby Boomer Grammy: April 2015
http://carlandnancy.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. Beautiful Fall trip to the Frio River. In October, we all stayed together in a large cabin on the Frio River. An autumn trip to the river has become a tradition. The cousins enjoyed their time together. This was the first River trip for Lorelei, Dahlia, and baby Rae. It was also baby Ben's first time on the Frio River. It was too cool for the babies to get wet in the river, but the older kids had fun jumping in. The grown ups enjoyed watching the kids and relaxing. Due to a minor ...

Baby Boomer Grammy: November 2014

Sunday, November 23, 2014. Good Bye to Uncle Philip. After graduating magma cum laude with an associate's degree from Alvin College, Philip headed off in July to Utah to earn a degree in aviation management from Utah Valley University in Provo. The grandkids will miss his silly faces. After a farewell Tex-Mex lunch at Gringos, it was time to say adios. We will miss you here in Texas Uncle Philip! He's a bit crazy, like his momma. Monday, November 10, 2014. The kids enjoyed these fun activities.
