This is how we did it. First I cut and draw my cat. Next I stick it on the bright orange card. Then I cut the bright eyes. When I’ve done that I get the triangle shaped black paper and stick it on for the nose. Finally I get the strips of white paper and stick them on for whisker and cut a mouth. That’s how you make a cat.

Muritai School: Room 6 2016. Thursday, July 2, 2015. Matariki is the Māori name for the small cluster of stars in the Taurus constellation that rise during the New Zealand winter. The Māori New Year signals a time for connecting with, and giving thanks to, the land, sea and sky. As part of our Matariki celebration, we made kites out of black plastic bags, wooden sticks, silver strips, string, cellotape and fancy felt pens. Here we are with our buddies and their kites. Muritai School: Room 6 2016. Saturday, July 25, 2015. This term we are inquiring into the use of magnets. Magnets are incredible and we use them quite a lot in everyday situations, sometimes without even knowing it. You could get a magnet and move it around underneath the disc. This worked brilliantly. Good thinking Roko! We will be talking about where we find magnets and how we use them so it would be a good idea to have a look around at home and see if you can see where and how you use magnets.

Muritai School: Room 6 2016. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. 100 days at school. We celebrated 100 days at school. We are now 100 days smarter! We did lots of different activities that were about the number 100. Take a look at some of the fun things we did and how we ended the day making and wearing groovy 100 glasses and 100 day crowns! Filling in the missing numbers to 100. How many shapes in this 100? Counting in fives. Ka pai Sophie. We can count to 100 in twos. Tino pai Roko and Lani. We all had so much fun.

Thursday, 7 November 2013. Netherby School Sports Day 29 October. We all loved the Long Jump! We had to run fast and leap off the mat into the sawdust in the pit. It was the first time at the sports for some of us. We got a 1 or 2 or 3 on our cards for our jumps. Some of our Mum's and Dad's came to watch us. We were flying in the air! What a great day!
