Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Photo from Indy Total Construction. I think I want to start showcasing Etsy sellers and their shops once a week or so. Maybe interview the seller themselves. I'm Only Slightly Obsessed: February 2015
http://craftylulu.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 1, 2015. I hardly ever post on this blog anymore. Not that I was ever much a regular blogger to begin with, but this page has been pretty much silent for a while now. Like I've written less than five posts in the last two years. I'd like that to change. The biggest change is that I am now in nursing school! And I left my job at the mental hospital to be a full time student! Constantly being at my house. He's even friends with some of them on facebook. Go Hubby for being great! Now this b...

I'm Only Slightly Obsessed: March 2014
http://craftylulu.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 21, 2014. The beginning of February my mom and I took a two day drive to Austin, TX to help my grandmother go through her garage. We had a blast throughout the week and lots of adventures. On the way to Austin, we stopped at the Cadillac Ranch. It was really chilly and windy that day! We celebrated my grandmother's 80th birthday a week early by going to a seafood place she liked. We ate avocados stuffed with crab meat and then the server surprised her with really yummy creme brulee. It was ...

I'm Only Slightly Obsessed: Loving My Life
http://craftylulu.blogspot.com/2014/01/loving-my-life.html
Monday, January 20, 2014. 2014 got off to a very interesting start. For a couple weeks, we thought I was pregnant. That was exhilarating and terrifying all at once. A couple different blood tests confirmed that I'm just me with crazy hormones. This made us realize that we totally do want a baby, and probably sooner than later. Yesterday was an awesome day. I made hot wings and nachos for my family to munch on while we watched the Bronco game! Love and coffee,. January 21, 2014 at 8:42 PM. 20-something wi...

Knitting and Spinning and Stuff, oh my! Thursday, March 27, 2008. That having a collection of FO’s would offer sweet incentive to write a chattily witty post declaring them. You’d think… I’m not totally sure about the chatty (ask me again at the end of the post), but I’m pretty sure you’ll have to forego any inspired wittiness. There is a post – that’s one of the factors at least, right? In no particular order:. Ala Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways For Sock Knitters. Second sock complete (finally! Waitaminit he...

Gotland: Fleece washing | The ways of the whorl
https://waysofthewhorl.wordpress.com/2011/07/04/gotland-fleece-washing
The ways of the whorl. Wherever the spinning takes me. July 4, 2011. Gotland fibres from Wells Manor Farm. Gotland is a long wool breed, often said to have been established by the Vikings (there is quite a bit of its history on the British Gotland Sheep Society. Website if you’re interested in finding out more). The fleece is often praised for its lustre and softness, and I have to say that mine didn’t disappoint. I bought the fibre at Unravel. In Farnham, Well Manor Farm. This required some equipment I ...

Spindle gallery | The ways of the whorl
https://waysofthewhorl.wordpress.com/spindle-gallery
The ways of the whorl. Wherever the spinning takes me. Here you will find photos of some of the spindles I have made. Jarod is a top whorl drop spindle. The shaft is made out of a Cocobolo chopstick, and the whorl is a metal bowl. It weighs approximately 1oz. I also love casting resin and made quite a few spindles in that way. I first started experimenting with different types of moulds and got these. A few more experiments with different types of moulds and finishes gave me those:. Fibre prep: Wool Combs.

I'm Only Slightly Obsessed: October 2011
http://craftylulu.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Me and my fiancee. Yup, I'm ENGAGED! My lovely boyfriend Jared asked me to marry him last week. We kept it a secret for a few days and then told our families and now I'm telling YOU! We are so excited. We are planning a wedding for the end of December 2012. The actual proposal was very simple. We were sitting on the couch talking about something completely different and he looks at me and just says, "Will you marry me? Of course I said yes. We kissed and the rest is history.
