A Journal of Cycling Lunacy. I'm reasonably impressed with my ability to collect music based on the same set of criteria that Pandora uses. That is not to say that Pandora hasn't done a great job of pointing me in the direction of some Artists that I haven't had previous exposure to, because it has. It's turned me on to a few things that I really like but had previously not heard. Or, it means that I have a highly tuned sense of my own tastes and that I have spent years refining my musical collection.

Monday, September 21, 2009. MORE FROM DAY ONE OF INTERBIKE. Misc stuff I learned from the Outdoor Demo today:. SRAM over Shimano ( No surprise there). 29" wheels over 26" (That's new! Castelli's new bibs w/ virtually no seams. Okay - maybe 2) look awesome and I'm gonna hafta try a pair. Every bike I rode today had hydraulic disc brakes but I still prefer mechanicals. (Sorry! If there was any way I was gonna survive a week w/out my One True Love (who flew down to Mexico to visit our son) it would hafta be a week filled w/ rides and other Cool Stuff. Lucky for me - that's just. The kind of week I've had! Monday 'twas her B-Day and then she left for the airport @ 4:00am Tuesday. I came down to the shop after she left and f-i-n-a-l-l-y got my Seven back together and it is beautiful. 16 pounds and 2 ounces of fixed gear fury! And 'twas sunny and warm!

We had a pre-ride bash 'cross the street @ the brewery too so that was cool. It was cool and wet all night and that didn't bode well. I was on site before 6:00 and there til 6:30pm. By then over 1250 riders had enjoyed a helluva day. I was WAY glad to have that day behind me! It was great and I.Did. Nothing. all dang day. Twas grand it was!

Monday, December 29, 2008. There ain't no bad rides! A case in point: Yesterday's "Crazy Bastard West" ride wasn't the best one ever by any means! The seasonal roads were an impassable mess of ice ruts, frozen snow, thinly iced over puddles and that meant lots of walking, pushing, falling and wet feet. BB's crank arm fell off at the farthest-possible-point-from-the-cars and we had to push him back (on gravel and pavement) until a rescue car arrived and it was cold and windy.
