Purchasing a membership in Northern Lights Arts Council enables the council to continue to finance arts events in Cavalier County and the surrounding communities. Memberships provide matching funds needed to apply for grants. Memberships finance events where no admission is charged such as the Student Art Show and the Building Community Vitality through Arts and Heritage Event.

Participation is open to students entering grade 2 through high school. A wide range of ages creates an interesting performance. The 2014 production was Rapunsal and was July 13 - 18 at Langdon Area High School Gym. The 2016 title will be available in January 2016. Four wine and canvas classes were held during the winter of 2013-14. The first class painted a variation of trees and the remainder were abstract. Art Student of the Month. Art in Unexpected Places uses a large easel to display the work of area artists in unexpected places as implement dealers, clinics, and banks. The North Dakota Museum of Art has sponsored three art displays under their Rural Arts Initiative. We also exhibit the work of area artists in individual exhibits. Laura Amble, Artist.
